We have stayed at the Caribbean Beach everytime we've gone to Disney & are thinking of stay at hte French Quarter this time for a change. I see it only has 1 bus stop & wondering how long the furthest building is from the food court?

Only 1 bus stop but remember, it's a small resort. Never stayed at the farthest bldg though..I always ask to be by the pool and river entrance so I can hop on the boats easily..

Yes I know it's small, that's why we were looking there. We stayed at Riverside when it was Dixie Landings in 1997 & for the life of me, I can't remember anything about it. We will request a room close to everything, but I was trying to figure out how small it is by how long it takes to walk from the farthest building.

There is only one bus stop but at the most the walk about 4 minutes. The food court is before you get to the bus.

The resort is probably about 1/3 the size of CBR. The buses usually are direct from POFQ to the destination but occasionally you will share with POR. Regardless, POFQ is always the first stop you will get a seat and there are not usually too many people waiting to get on. You also have the boat to DTD.

4 min walk puts it in perspective - Thanks!!

It's small and fabulous. Everything is right at your door step.

One thing to know is that the elevators are not central in the buildings....they are at one end. This was a minor issue for me as I have Arthritis which makes the stairs not the best idea for me. In future I'll ask for ground floor. We had building 5 which is right between the pool and boat dock on one side and the food court and bus on the other. The elevator in that building is right along the river.

For the buildings farthest from the food court, they're actually closer to the bus stop then the food court if you cut across the parking lot :)

We never waited very long for a bus (10 min max) and only once did it fill up before we were able to get on ... and this was last Christmas.

The food court is pretty good for CS and we found it MUCH better food then Boatwrights at PORS. You HAVE to try the beignettes :cloud9:

Bar service at the pool was great. Bartender was very friendly (I forget her name) though I REALLY hope they've given her a better music selection now! (normally she said it's 3 or 4 songs ALL day EVERY day :scared1:)

Have a great trip!

Hmmmmm. Trying to give some distance to the property. But a Previous post is correct that the bus stop can be closer than the food court by cutting through the parking lot. It's a pretty resort especially if you have a room on the river. I'd scythe furthest building to food court would be like walking from main gate to the castle - does anyone concur with that. Trying to recall from 3 years ago - kids were small so it might have seemed far with them!!!!

Nevertheless, it's a lovely resort and worth trying. Having the river boat to The Marketplace is an added treat!

I don't think it's that far....maybe 1/2 that distance. The resort is very small in particular when you compare to other resorts.

You guys have been a great help. I have to wait until after Oct 3rd to book, but we won't be going again until Sept 2012. I have a 3 month old baby right now, so by the time we're on our way again, she'll be 15 months which scares the hell out of me, but we want to go again with our son who will be 6.5 then so the 15 month old will be coming along for the ride, should be a lot of work I imagine!
