Really, the dining is what will determine which you pick here. In 2013's prices, I cannot recommend the QSDP to save money at all. Using an average snack cost of $3 you'd need to spend ~$17.29 including tax at each QS meal just to break even on it. This is out of reach of the majority of the QS locations, and usually at the upper end of the menus for those that can reach this amount.
That leaves the first quote, however, also note here that
DDP may not be good value for you either, based on what you want to do about food at the world. If you don't think you'd be dining in the structure of the plan (1 TS, 1 QS per night, keeping to the higher half of the restaurants and the higher half of the menus, and utilizing all snacks and desserts at all meals), then you'll be better off paying out of pocket for your food too. Using the same $3 snack as we used above, the break even points are the same per QS credit and ~$35 (I think, I'd have to double-check but it sounds right) per TS credit. It's not that easy to do anymore with the 2013 price increases.
There are several posts over on the Dining Plan board (where I normally hang out

) geared toward determining if and which plan best suits your needs. I'd certainly check with those first before you decide either way.
As far as dates,
MNSSHP or F&W & MNSSHP or
MVMCP & F&W

(I'd choose the 2nd since I'm not big on Christmas but I do like food

)
