POFQ Wheelchair Availability

I hope someone can help me with this. Our previous stays have been at the AKL and they always have wheelchairs available to use. You leave you credit card until returned. Does anyone know if POFQ has the same procedure?

All Disney resorts (except perhaps Swan and Drowning Goldfish, I'm not sure about them) have this system, though it is always on a first-come-first-serve basis, and there is a limited availability. I've never had any problems getting one in the past (I have my own chair now), but others have reported problems. It's not normally so much of a problem at the PO resorts, as they can ring around to their sister resort if they're out (they've done this for me before), but it is still a bit of a gamble. I'd recommend taking the phone numbers of a couple of local rental companies, just in case the resort is out of chairs.

All of the WDW resorts have some wheelchairs for loan, but there is no guarantee that one will be available when you get there. The WDW website notes that and suggests if you need a wheelchair, that you rent from one of the off-site rental places.

There is information (including links and phone numbers) about the different ways to 'get' wheelchairs in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, located near the top of the thread list on this board.
As was already suggested, it's a good idea to take phone numbers of some of the off-site rental places with you. That way, if the resort doesn't have any wheelchairs, you still have some options.
