Hello

Would anyone pick a POFQ garden view over POR standard view Royal Room?
Currently booked FQ for 9 nights for around 200 more I could get the Royal room instead
Anyone who has stayed about both could you compare the quality of the rooms?
Did you prefer one over the other?

Thanks so much

Have not stayed at FQ but have walked it so I know what view you mean. Sept we stayed in a standard Royal Room. It faced the "outer" courtyard of the mansion meaning the parking lot side but I was no where near the parking lot. I was steps to the quiet pool and minutes to the main hub.

As far as interior - LOVED - the Royal room. The attention to detail, there wasn't a part or space of the room not addressed. I felt like it was more a deluxe room and really could have cared less what was outside the inside was so pretty. I would chose a Royal room over any other in those resorts if in my budget. :thumbsup2

I found that the buses were easier to handle when staying at POFQ, or atleast they were in november times

I am a POFQ fan, but couldn't pass up a royal room. Last time we had a garden view at POFQ, we got a big giant tree in front of our room so that was our whole view - the top half of the tree which featured close ups of some very nice branches. Couldn't see much around it.

We will have a car so the buses aren't an issue
I like the look of the royal rooms more but like compactness of fq
The fq rooms look just blah to me

I really liked the look of PO! and i used their quick serve area all of the time! the choices just seemed easier for us.
I dont spend alot of time at the resorts anyways, we're gone no later then 8, and very rarely come back at lunchtime, if we do it is just for a quick nap, then we're off again until 9 or 12 ish. I think the compactness of POFQ and the busses still win me over!

We've stayed at both & prefer FQ (when we stay at a moderate). Since we drive we have a car :car: obviously, but we always use Disney Buses & FQ is much more convenient. But that's just us ::yes::

Royal Room is irrelevant to me - I prefer POR because the food court is far better IMO, and the fact that it is larger means people spread out more. When we visited POFQ, we found that it felt crowded, the bus stop was crowded, and the food court was so crowded we had to eat in the lounge. Plus the city-style feeling of POFQ probably contributed to this with the room doors being near pathways, etc. We just prefer the overall atmosphere of POR.

I definitely prefer POFQ over POR. We stayed in a garden view RR last October, and, lovely as it was, the novelty soon wore off and all of us were wishing we were back at POFQ. The only thing I liked at POR over POFQ was the quiet pool in between Oak Manor and Parterre Place, other than that, just meh. Can't wait to go back to POFQ in September.

I think this is just one of those things were it will totally depend on what it is like when you are there. We stayed in a RR last trip, and it was lovely. But the rest of our time at POR was less than wonderful. The food court was always so packed that there wasn't a place to sit, and so were the buses. After two days of terrible POR bus service, we started taking the FQ bus and walking back to POR.

I haven't decided where we'll stay this trip yet. IDK if the loveliness of a RR outweighs the bus service, and I don't want to risk it again. You just never know what it'll be like until you are there.

Same here

Last time we stayed at AOA in LM and I loved the themed room
The themed room at POR looks great and Im sure my kids would love it as would I they are really excited about the Dragon slide at FQ which I know we can use if we stay at either
This shouldn't be do hard to decide

Definitely prefer POFQ over POR. Really, the decor inside the room is almost irrelevant to me. Although I have to say that the RRs really don't do a thing for me- I don't have little girls, and it's a bit too gimmicky for my taste.

It's the resort itself that makes the biggest difference for us. The ease of walking to and from any place inside POFQ was probably the deciding factor. I didn't miss the POR quiet pools- the pool and pool bar at POFQ was right outside our door. The boat to DTD was a minute away.

Only one bus stop, and we were the first stop any time we shared with POR. We enjoyed the food at the food court more than we thought we would, and used it more than we normally do due to me being ill for a couple of days and not going to the parks.

And I can't say enough good things about all of the CMs that we encountered during our stay. They were all, without fail, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we couldn't say the same thing about some of the CMs we had to deal with at POR. But that is a highly variable thing and I'm sure isn't a common occurance.

Haven't stayed at POR, but had a Garden View room at POFQ this year (first stay there) and loved it. I was in bldg 5 overlooking the lawn where they show movies, very convenient to the main bldg and the "short cut" past bldg 4 to the bus stop. I like the looks and decor at POFQ and look forward to another stay.

I think the Royal Rooms look neat, and it would be fun to stay in one some time, but POR is too sprawling for my taste, and it looks to me like the "Standard View" Royal Rooms would be the farthest from the main bldg. If I could get a River View Royal Room for equal or less than a POFQ Garden View, I'd consider it, but not otherwise. The compactness of POFQ and ease of getting around was what made me choose that in the first place.
