Our family is trying to decide between POFQ and Coronado Springs. We have stayed in All Star Movies, but thought it might be nice to upgrade a bit this year. We have four kids. They range in age from 2 to 8. Any pointers, pictures, comparisons would be helpful.::MickeyMo

Personally CS is one of my least favorites! You never know when a convention will be there and the rooms are very far from everything.
I think with the little kids CBR is a nice resort for them. The pool is the right size, it's easy to get around, they have nice playgrounds, and the island with all the birds is fun too.
POFQ is another favorite!

We have stayed at POR for three trips. All have been fantastic. Yes, the grounds are immaculate and lovely. The rooms are decent sized and have always been clean. Being surrounded by the charm of POR makes it ideal for families as well as those romantics who are so blessed to be alone for a moment!

For kids the pool at CSR rocks!

An 8 yo would probably not be excited by the pool slide at POFQ, and definitely not the slide at CBR. The pool at CBR is SMALL!

It was tough to decide between PO and CSR, but I like the atmosphere at CSR - very tropical almost like you're in Mexico.

My seven year old likes the pool at CBR & POFQ the best! He gets overwhelmed by the pool at CS.
Another thing is CBR & POFQ were just renovated.

Does the water slides at either of the pools play a big factor? I have noticed that the slide at Coronado is longer, but the slide at POFQ seemed more colorful and themed. The kids could care less about the room. All they care about is the pool and the play factor of the resort.:earsboy:

if they want a good pool, long slide, play area. Lots of seating, even in shade available. Kiddie pool is a decent size too and not far from the drop point of the slide. We thought it was a perfect setup for us to actually sit and relax, while watching their every move.

Our kids were 4 & 9 at CBR and the pool was crowded and they were bored with the slide. It was shorter than their backyard slide. The pool area is way too small for the size of the hotel. Kiddie pool was packed too. Very disappointing.

We have stayed at PO Riverside frequently and always enjoyed our trip there. Have toured and eaten at POFQ and other than the cuteness of the look of the slide, it didn't look fun and the pool was smaller and not appealing to any of us.

I would go for Coronado if you want the whole "fun pool package" in a moderate. Request a room by the pool !

Check out this guys site - it is great and full of pictures...

Should the boat to Downtown Disney be a factor? It looks to me like the boat would be a cool feature, but I have not heard anyone refer to the boat.:earseek: :earsboy: :earseek: :earsboy:

Another vote for CSR. The pool area is great!! Kids will love it. As far as it being a convention hotel...don't let it discourage you. It is a large hotel and you will hardly notice any difference. I saw a few suits walking around but it did not ruin my experience at all.

Request a room in the Cabana area...it is close to both main pool and main building.

The "food court" has a larger variety then most resorts so everyone can find something they like.

As far as CBR, the mail pool area is VERY crowded and small. I'm not a fan of CBR.

Coronado Springs is my vote!! For all the reasons previously listed this is a great place to stay!! We are booked for 9 days June 3 for our second visit and when we stayed there before we didn't take notice of any conventioneers. If the large grounds bother you, you can take the buses to El Centro and back!! Have a great time no matter where you stay!!:wave2:

CSR has a GREAT pool, long slide, playground, sand play area, and arcade are right there! The pool bar serves great lunch items , so no need to go find lunch!

I can't imagine that you have been there when there has been a large convention at CS. The two times I had stayed there there was Enterprise, which was full of young drunk men! Took over the pool and the restaurants, even the quiet pool by our room was closed for a private party. The other time was a large convention for Edward Jones, the same!

Coronado Springs. It simply is my favorite resort, except for around Christmas when my favorite is the Wilderness Lodge. I love the fact that it is spread out (although some here whine about that). It is awesome being across the lake at night and looking at El Centro. It has the best pool of all the moderates.

We've stayed at both. CSR is our favorite out of ALL the resorts we've stayed at(see below). The pools are beautiful at both. I think the food court at CSR is a little better. Just MO. The grounds at CSR are magnificent! It feels like a deluxe. You can't go wrong either way.

I just watched "The Rocket" strike out Barry Bonds.
Anyway, we enjoyed CSR very much last year. The pool was wonderful. We are going to POFQ this year for the first time, so if the majority here likes it better than CSR, I'm really looking forward to it.

Stitch considering you have been at CSR and you sre going to POFQ in less than a month, we need onsite intel. Please let me know what you think. Have fun!:jumping1:

POFQ is leading the voting poll, but I am getting posts from Coronado fans. Please speak up POFQ fans. I need your input. :earseek:

Thats because CSR is better:smooth:

We just returned 2 days ago from POFQ, so I can tell you a few things about that resort. By the way I voted for CBR - I thought children yours ages would enjoy the playing at the sand beaches - I did stay at CBR twice before but it was 12 -15 years ago just after it opened. So don't feel like I can accurately comment on the current state of that resort.

Anyway, in my mind POFQ's best "feature" is it's small size. We stayed in Building 1, parking lot side - which is one of the furthest spots from the food court, it was at most a 2 minute walk.

The play area was very modest (to be kind). Any daycare, church or public school in any city would have a nicer, larger playground.

The pool and especially the slide was a big hit with our 6 year old. The 3 yr old was afraid to go down the slide. The pool depth is 3'3" to 4'9". The kiddie pool again is "modest" - it is a 20' diamater circle with water depth 12" to maybe 18".

We took the boat to POR and ate at the food court there once. It had the same offerings as POFQ, was twice the size, and had lines twice as long - stick with POFQ for the food court.

All in all our trip was nice, but we will probably choose a different resort next time. POFQ just did not seem to be set up to cater to small children very well. The only thing real positive about it in my mind is the small size - i.e short walks. POFQ shares buses with POR. POFQ is the first spot for pickup and the first for drop off, that was nice - at least going to the parks you never have to stand.

Our kids enjoyed ASMO better than POFQ even without the pool slide.
