Hi everyone-- almost time to leave, but we've had a change in plans. We booked Poly, but now have changed to 2 rooms at POFQ since we added my friends daughter to our trip roster. I am so used to the monorail, tell me is transportation good there? I know POFQ shares with POR. Will we have long waits. We are now 2 adults, DS 8, DS 5, friends son 9, friends daughter 14. Am I brave or what! (HaHa):hyper:

I was just at the POFQ, and the bus service was fantastic. I only had to wait more than five minutes for a bus once. The buses came more frequently than I expected.

Just curious, how long did it take for the bus to actually leave for the parks after leaving POR? CBR has too many stops and it seems like it takes the bus a total of 10 minutes or maybe 15 to pick up everyone from every stop (I think there's a total of 7 stops) before heading out to the parks. That's one of the reason I hesitant to stay at the POFQ is that it shares bus with POR that already has 3 or 4 stops.

When I stayed at POFQ that the transportation was not the best, but it isn't horrible.

Transportation was the primary thing we did not care for at POFQ. :(

We were in Building 7, which seemed to us to be a long way from the bus stop. Once you got there, there was not really a long wait for the bus, but the frequent stopping at Riverside got really old. I think there were literally 3 or 4 stops at Riverside, and it did take about 15 minutes or so. Add this on to your regular transportation time, and you wonder if driving would not be better.

On the plus side -- oddly enough, we did not experience bus crowding. Only once on the way back from the studios, I think it was, were there people standing. They did have a lot of busses running it seemed. Also, as other posters have said in other threads, POFQ is the first stop on the return route, so the ride back is okay.

That being said, I guess it is just a totally individualized thing! :D

I thought the spin around the POR was pretty quick. It only added about five minutes to the ride. If the buses are full in the morning, they leave directly from the POFQ (or sometimes only make one stop at the POR).

Very few resorts have dedicated buses. Most buses make several stops (and the stops are necessarily convienent--like the Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian buses). The POFQ/POR bus share works a lot better than some of the other shared routes I've seen.

I,too, thought the transportation was great. We stayed in building three, go we walked straight across the front entrance to the bus stop. Rarely had to wait more than a few minutes for the bus we were looking for.
Once on the bus, there were just a couple of stops, and off you go.
Just remember, too, that you are the first bus-stop when you return, so your back to your room faster!!:teeth:

While we were recently at POFQ, we only used the buses twice. Once from DTD (because there was lightning, we didn't want to take the boat back), and we were the last stop, not the first after going over to West Side, then 4 stops at POR. But the day we rode it over to MK, we seemed to walk up to the stop as the bus pulled up and then we went directly to MK and we were nowhere near full.

We just got back from staying at POFQ this past weekend. We rode the bus to MK late afternoon on Sat, and the bus did NOT go to POR at all, it went straight to MK even though the bus was almost completely empty.
On the way back to POFQ from MK, there were two clearly separate lanes for buses, and POFQ had its own bus, just as POR had its own bus.
I don't know if this means that POFQ is NOT sharing a bus with POR anymore or what. It was very fast getting to/from MK though, only a 10 minute ride once you got on the bus.

We were at POFQ last month and FQ and PO had completely seperate buses. I don't know if it was because it was so busy or if the resorts have their own buses now. We rode the bus to MK in the am with no wait at all.:D When we tried to go to PI at night around 9 p.m. we had to wait 35 mins for a bus. Buses for Epcot and MK showed up every 5 mins. That was very frustrating, especially when we were paying 12 dolllars an hour for an in room babysitter. the Comedy Warehouse was worth it though! great show:teeth:

Thank you all for your views on the transportation. I am now all packed and ready to leave after getting a good night's rest! You have eased my mind and I know we are in for a great vacation. I will post when I return all our information. Thanks alot.:Pinkbounc
