POFQ Standard Room View?

I'm trying to decide between the "Water" view and "Standard" view room at POFQ. What do the "Standard" view rooms overlook? Thanks.

I've stayed there twice, as well as read the Unoffical Guide to Disney World.

Standard View: Most likely faces a parking lot. I like them better since they tend to be quiter than pool views (NOTE: I said pool; more on that in a second). Standard views may also be "internal" facing to nice parks.

Water View has two categories. While Dsiney may not tell you, you'll need to specifically request:

River View: Rooms on the River (seem to be quiet also, but I never stayed in them).

Water View: This can have a view (could be a slim view) of the River OR the pool.

If you want a water view, make sure they note which one you want.

I have stayed at POFQ four times and never had a problem. Maybe we were just lucky, but we overlooked courtyards of beautiful landscaping and walkways. We have never looked at a parking lot. The waterveiw rooms are further away from the food court and bus stop, so I never could rationalize paying extra for them.:thumbsup2

I had a water view room last time (only thing they had left) and I had an obstructed view of a fountain. Not that my room wasn't nice, but I didn't see any water.

Personally, I don't think it is worth the extra $ to book a water-view room. I've never had a bad view. We were upgraded to a water-view during our visit earlier this year, and the view was nice, but so was the view we had in Sept. 2006.

Here's an example:
