POFQ Room Requests

I'll be staying at POFQ for the first time this May. The only thing I care about room location wise is being close to the buses. What building should I request to get close to the buses? Also, would it be too much to request a certain location and king bed?

How do I actually go about making these requests? I've been to the World many times but have never made any requests before.

Thanks for all the help that I know will come!

We were in building 4 and were very close to the buses and food court. It was an awesome place!

We were there about 4 years ago and it badly needed an update. Have stayed at different on cite resorts since then. Has it recently been redone? We loved the location and size. :goodvibes

The building closest to the buses is Building 4. You can certainly request Building 4 and a king bed, but remember that these are only requests and both might not be available for your dates of travel. You might be placed in Building 4 or be given a king room in a different building, depending on availability, when you arrive. When you check in if you don't get the room you would like you can always ask if there is a different room available.

Call the same number you used to make your reservation and explain that you would like to make a room request. If you booked through a travel agent, call your TA and have them contact WDW with your room request. Your request will be noted on your reservation so when the person assigns your room at POFQ they can try to match your request to rooms that will be available.

Enjoy POFQ. As you can see down in my siggie, I love staying there!

The entire resort was refurbished about 2004, with spot repairs being made to rooms as issues come up. The pool was refurbished this past winter.

The standard room at POFQ has 2 beds. A king bed is considered an upgrade, and costs a few more $$$.

Building 4 is right by the bus stop. Building 5 is where we stayed last time is still only a 3 minute walk to the bus and is right next to the pool. For closest to the bus stop, I would put the buildings in this order, with the first being the closest: 4,5,6,3,2,7,1. Building 1 is probably a 5 minute walk to the bus-stop. The resort is cozy, but buildings 7,6 and 1 seem a bit on the outskirts.

King beds are xtra $$ and extremely hard to get. We have been there twice in recent years and thought the rooms were in very good condition. I would not recommend upgrades to the preferred room, as all you get is either the river view, which are the furthest away rooms, or rooms on the pool which are extra noisy. We had rooms in building 2 and then 5, which are on either side of the pool, but our rooms faced away from the pool. I thought this was perfect, and have asked for Building 5 again on upcoming trip.

I was in building 7 last year in a room facing the courtyard between my building and building 6. It was a great location to get to the buses. There is a walkway right in back of building 6, that goes past the cast members bus stop and comes up in back of the resort bus stop. It took just a few minutes to get there.

It was a bit further to the food court and main building, but still took no longer than 3-4 minutes. Honestly the place is so small, that no matter which building you are in the walk isn't that bad. I've stayed in building 1 before and don't remember the walk taking that much time. It's what I love about the place.

The one time I stayed at AKL was the longest walk. I don't think there are any rooms there that don't make you schlep at least 10 minutes.

Thanks for all your help. I've decided to request building 4 and give up on the idea of a king bed. I'm used to staying at Pop so I'm not used to such a small resort.
