does pofq ever get the room rate discount, assuming there is a rate offered in the time period i'm looking at.
I see that it is not included in the discounts for the summer months. i'm booked for mid-ish November and am hoping a discounted rate will come out, I may just have to change to pors.
I hope this is understandable......:flower3:

I have never seen a discount for POFQ. It is the smallest of the moderate resorts and I'm assuming that it stays busy without the discounts.

I'm sure that there is someone out there that knows more about the discounts than myself. I just have never seen one for POFQ. Still hasn't stopped us from staying there either. We love it there.

When public room discounts are available, yes, but it's a measly 5%. It's so low they don't bother listing it like the other resorts. But they do offer it. If you have AAA, I've been able to get a much better rate at POFQ....the highest being 20%, when the public offer was only 5%.

As the pp said, discounts are offered at POFQ, but always seems to be very low (around 5% like pp stated). POFQ is a pretty popular resort and is smaller than the other mods, so I think it gets booked up faster than the others, therefore, getting a lower discount.

I booked POFQ on a bounceback discount, same as the rate for other mods. I can also get it on a AAA discount.

It always depends on the specific discount. Remember that only a certain number of rooms in any resort are allocated for a discount, and once they're gone, the discount is no longer available. Because POFQ is so small, that sell-out often happens very quickly.

And discounts are based on occupancy. Disney offers the discounts to sell rooms. Many times, POFQ is already well-booked before the discount comes out, so it's either non-existent or very small.

We've gotten decent discounts at POFQ a few years back, but lately POR seems to have the better offers. We have stayed at both resorts and like them equally. If POR has a better discount for this coming fall, I would book there. POFQ is a great place but not worth paying much more for, IMO.

its the size of pors that has me questioning it. pofq looks so much more doable. i don't want to have to walk a mile to get to the food court for a drink. thats the downside for me.
decisions decisions.....

POFQ has discounts with AAA and Orbitz...we are here now and booked it through Orbitz back in March..I think the discount was in the range of 20%...which was better than the discounts offered through Disney...just keep checking!

In that case, reserve a preferred room.

POR (in recent years) has almost always had better discounts than POFQ for all the reasons stated by the PPs. You may get lucky with a discount from AAA, but not likely as good as the Disney ones at POR. We had a PIN for 30% off room only for our stay at POFQ in the spring, so that would be great if you were lucky enough to get one of those. But of course PINs are the Disney grail.

It's not a discount, but I'm staying at POFQ last week of August with the free dining PIN. Did have to book a garden room instead of standard, but got the dining thrown in. For our family of four adults, that's a great discount!

any idea which buildings are preferred rooms? I just looked at the map and can't figure it out.
also, thanks everyone for all your help with this. I just am so undecided now.

They are in AB section as Dansdad listed. Personally I prefer the mansion section rooms, and if you request a location close to old man island bridge you'll be close enough to food court.

We got a 20% room discount at pifq with AAA discount. You can book thru Disney reservations and ask for AaA rate.
