Not looking for a debate...I am simply wondering if anyone who has paid extra for a water or river view at POFQ has any photos of their view and could tell me what building number they were put in. We normally don't pay for one, but had to book one this year to get a spot at the resort, and it would be really helpful with room requests. Thanks :goodvibes

We paid extra for a waterview room at the Riverside and got a pool view not a river view so be careful or try to specify a room or section. We also were on the second floor and had a tree in the way so we pretty much had no view. But it did make getting to the pool easy. A waterview does not always mean river it may mean pool.

That confusion is why they now have the option of water view or river view.
Water view as Oats states may or may not mean the river but a river view guarantees the river. IIRC the bldgs. are 6,3,1,5 and maybe 7 offer river views but bldg 3 and 1 are closest to the river
These are views from bldg 3

Thanks so much guys! I will go back and check my reservation. So I guess that means if I have a river view, I may not be close to the main pool and if I have a water view, I might not have a view of the river.

In May 2010, we stayed at POFQ with a water view. I think this was before they split water view and river view categories... We were in Building 1 - which was about as far from everything as you could get, but really wasn't far because the resort is so small. This was the view from our door.

And the view from our window.

Wow those pictures are beautiful! Thanks so much! I am really getting excited about my view!

Oh, Thanks for the pics! I just booked a riverview last weekend for our July trip. Looks like a wonderful view!!! :)

I have a few pics from our trip back in 2005 of our corner room in Bldg 6 which I'm sure would now be classified as Riverview. It is Room 6123. I've put a red "x" on the map below. We were on the first floor and looked straight out onto the river.

Here's some more pics from near Room 6123:

This pic shows the view of the river from the courtyard adjoining our corner room.

Our particular group of rooms was very quiet; almost no traffic and it was Easter week! (Stairs to the upper floors and elevator was to the left of this picture.)

WOW! That corner room looks awesome! Thanks so much for the post! My mother will be on a ECV, so it would be nice to be close to an elevator. How far of a walk was it to the main pool from building 6?

I would say about three minutes or so at most. I went out every morning for those wonderful beignets and coffee to bring back to DH and it was very quick.

The disboards does have a way of making me eat crow sometimes! I just told my husband today what waste these waterviews are, but I see these pictures and think maybe I should change my POFQ reservation to a river view one!

Just beautiful.:goodvibes

This post just made my day! Seeing these pictures have me soo excited for our upcoming trip!
