Pofq refurb

I'm in such a quandary...

Really love pofq -but found out rooms are undergoing refurb during our April/May stay.
I know you are generally away from noise-but we do return to resort during the daytime and don't want to be disturbed..
Also-it's my birthday and I want to be happy!

Thinking of switching to ssr-advice please.

We stayed in POR and the building next to us was being refurbed. I guess it depends where they are in the process, but I never heard any noise. It’s all inside the rooms. It’s not like the outside is getting worked on.

I love the warmth of the POFQ rooms, I really hope they don’t make them cold and sterile as seems to be the trend.

If you're at all worried, I'd switch so you can relax about your birthday trip.

Plus, then you can walk back and fore between SSR and DS for birthday meals, drinks and shopping!

I think that's the way forward.

I stayed at POFQ during the last renovation, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there now. There were absolutely no problems with noise or dirt. In fact, I found it interesting to be able to see the process.

We stayed also during the last redo and had no effect on our stay. They were in another building , workers seemed to be there between 8:00am and 4:30/ 5:00pm . Just a few extra vehicles/ storage trailers in one parking lot. We went back just about every afternoon to hang at the pool BTW.

I've never been at POFQ during refurbishments, but that is our absolute favorite resort we have stayed at! DH and I both loved everything about it, especially the small size. I've never stayed at SSR, but this year we took the chance to drive to every hotel for fun and our two least favorites were SSR and OKW. I would easily choose POFQ over SSR even during refurbishments. I know a lot of people are still staying at POP during the refurbishments and I haven't seen any complaints.

There's a schedule up on portorleans.org, you could always try to request a building not being refurbished (or one that's already been refurbished).
