I'm sure this has been covered somewhere a million times before but I did a search and for some reason it didn't come up.

We were at the POFQ in May, 2005 and bought mugs. We're going back in a couple weeks to the POFQ..... I can bring them and use them again right? Is it still free for drinks if I bring an "older" mug with me?

Thanks!

I hope you wearing your fire proof clothes...

this is a very, very heated issue here.

so expect this post to be moved.

disney new policy says that you CAN'T use your older mugs. You must buy new ones. (the POFQ has changed the design)

but it is up to you.

The mugs are only for the length of stay of that visit. I don't know why people think they are good forever. We have had many laughs about this topic - we saw people bringing mugs from home and filling them at POR. In this world, unfortunately, nothing is free!!

We just got back from Saratoga Springs and noticed that the mugs seem different. The design was kind of Disney-generic and said Fall 2006 (even though it is now winter of 2007). Are they changing the mugs?

Sorry. I didn't know it was a heated discussion.

Was it always this way? I thought I was told or read that it was good forever.

Is the key word "new". Was it a policy before that you could use older mugs?

Makes you wonder why they don't change the style at least twice a year. We didn't see any CM's playing "mug police" at the Pop during our last stay. I did notice people filling mugs from other resorts, and even larger size non-disney mugs. Good thing the fountain drinks cost pennies per serving. I remember certain older mugs were sold with a "lifetime refills", so maybe that only added to the confusion. It's hard to debate a policy that isn't being enforced though. I have our two Pop mugs from three months ago, and I can't say the thought of bringing them didn't cross my mind :rolleyes1.

Honestly, what I don't get is why this always turns into such a big deal. If Disney doesn't care (obviously, they don't or they would police it better - or at the very least, change the mug design more frequently like the above poster said) - then why on earth does it bug people so much??? I'm having way too much fun on my trips to Disney to even notice what mugs people are using at the fountains. I just honestly don't give a flip!!

So maybe I'm not going crazy?? Is there a link to the discussion so I can see what's been discussed?

Have people brought older mugs and have been told no or stopped by someone? I was told we can reuse our mugs on future trips. If that was the case at one time, whose to say that I can't use it?

So it sounds to me like its "PEOPLE" who seem to care. Not Disney so much.

Wow - this is the best post regarding refillable mugs that I have ever seen. You are right, who cares!! Enjoy your time at Disney and stop worrying about "rules". Disney is a place to have fun, it is not a jail.

The official policy is that the mugs are going for the length of stay at the resort you purchased them at.

This has been discussed many many times. I suggest doing a search to find past discussions.
