Hey guys,

Is there really a difference at POFQ between the standard view and the water view:confused3 ? If I booked a water view, what will I be looking at and does that guarantee no parking lot view?

Thanks!!

You won't have a parking lot view with the water view but if that isn't totally important don't spend the extra money and go standard view with a request in for a courtyard room. We did and got building 3 courtyard view and very close to the food court and pool. Our favorite resort! You will love it!!!!

I would not waste any money on waterview. The rooms open onto a veranda type hallway that guests use. There are no balcony's and there are no tables and chairs on that walkway to enjoy the view.

I paid for waterview last year and if there was a place to actually enjoy it form the room it would have been worth he money as I am an early riser. I would have had my coffee and enjoyed the view of the lazy river while everyone else slept.

The reality was that we got BLDG 1 with a view of the river, but was the furthest from the food court. Not a bad walk as POFQ is a compact resort, but the irony of paying additional money in order to walk to the end of the resort complex hit me as I was trudging back with a sleeping Princess who seemed to weigh more with each step.

I totally agree, our view of the pool was through large shrubs, dont waste the money.:)

Thanks guys. I took all your advice and switched to a standard view with a courtyard view request!!
:cool1:

Our favorite is the standard view, near the food court in building 4 facing the food court. We've stayed in 4130 and I believe 4124. We like the ground floor because of convenience with a stroller, but if you want upstairs try 4230 etc. The view into the courtyard is charming, if your're home in the evening the horses clop by. Its near the pool etc. I like that I can pop in to get coffee in the morning, or ice-cream in the evening.

The one time we stayed at POFQ, my husband insisted on the water view. Well, we got Bldg 5 and if you walked out of the door and turned to the right and hung over the railing, you could see the canal that goes to DTD. It was not worth the extra cost.

We only had a standard room, and while all the above responses are correct, I do not think that any of the rooms overlook the parking lot (I might be mistaken). The resort is nicely landscaped and set back in from the noise and bustle of the parking lot. One of the few nice things I can say about this resort.

Disney prefers to call it the Sassagoula River. There are very few natural bodies of water on WDW property, and the Sassagoula River is not one of them.

As to water view at ANY of WDW's 4 Moderate resorts ...

Overall, it's a waste of money in my opinion. Your door and window open ontp exterior corridors, meaning that there is a walkway and railing in between you and whatever it is you hope to view. And if your curtains are wide open to enjoy the view, then everyone walking by has a great view of YOU! At an extra cost of $15-$26 per night depending on season, I can think of a lot of other things at WDW that are worth that kind of money over the course of a vacation.

:rotfl2: I'm sorry to laugh but the way you described it just hit me as hysterical! It reminds me of a friend of mine who requested a water view and she told me that if you left the room and walked down the hallway to the end and turned to the left, you could see the fountain :rotfl:

POFQ is my favorite resort and I too have made the mistake and got a water view the first time. I actually could see the river from our room, but I won't pay for that again. I'd request building 4 so you are close to the food court and bus stop. Let's face it has anyone ever said they didn't walk enough on their trip to WDW?

You may have a fair view of the river or obstructed pool view or you may have view of a limb from a tree. Don't waste the money. Go Standard view.
