I now that the POFQ is closed for remodeling. On first reading, I was under the impression that the FQ resort was going to be closed for two years. After reading another article it sounds like they are remodeling the entire PO resort but just starting with the FQ side first and that the total RS renovation will follow and both resorts together will only take two years. Does this mean that the FQ side will be finished before two years? PLEASE HELP with info if you know. We stayed at POFQ in last Oct and fell in LOVE with it. We want to go back in Oct 2004. Does anyone have a clue whether the FQ will be back taking guest by then? I appreciate your help so much. Thanks!

I e-mailed Disney on this same thing last week. The answer they gave me was that the POR (as a whole) was being remodeled over the next 2 years, begining with the FQ. From this I am encouraged that it will be open sooner than 2 years! I am hoping that it will be open for our trip next September.

I would really like to know the answer to the POFQ ? too if anyone has any info. As I've posted before, this was to be our resort for our Sept. stay, but we were moved to the WL (yeah I know, tough luck). I'm looking forward to staying at WL, but we really might like to try POFQ for a latter trip if possible. :D

jkovick.....thanks so much for sharing your phone call. That does sound encouraging.....Ill keep my fingers crossed!

It was my understanding, as well, that the 2 year timeframe is for the PO as a whole, and that the FQ will be re-opening well before 2 years.

I certainly hope that's true. I've only stayed there once, but we absolutely fell in love with that resort during our stay in February. We made our ressies for our May trip before we even checked-out. We were soooooo disappointed that we had to stay elsewhere because of the rehab.

I'm taking my Dad back in January and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my new favorite resort will be ready for me!

There was a report on the Port Orleans FAQ thread that the resort may be open in time for this Christmas. That's good news for some friends who would like to stay there next February.
