OK, I saw that darn travel chanel special the other night and now we are thinking about WL. We have ressie at POFQ which is very appealing to me. DH wants to stay at WL and although I like the theming of POFQ better I would love a queen bed. We are planning on doing parks in the morning and then rest at the resort for lunch and lots of dinners at Epcot. Which resort would be more convienent? Which is in a better location for us. Is WL worth the extra $1000???

I would love a king bed but we will have DS 7 with us. I can't put him on an air mattress for 9 nights.

My DW and I love the WL but for $1,000 more I think I would stay at POFQ. WL has the boat to the MK but for all other resorts you would have to take the bus from both. You could always make one of you ADRs for Artist Point and visit the WL that way.

OK, If I were to request a king bed room and bring a twin air mattress:

1. will the air mattress fit under the king bed during the day
2. will there be enough room for the air mattress
3. how much bigger will the room be with 1 king instead of 2 doubles
4. how many king rooms do they have and what bldg are they in

Have you considered POR? In POR there are rooms, in Alligator Bayou, that have two beds plus a single trundle under the bed closest to the door. We are a family of four (me, dh, ds (6) & ds (2)) and we have stayed at POR, POFQ and WL. Dh & I sleep in one bed, ds (6) sleeps in another and the youngest is in a pnp and we still have plenty of room in all of those resorts. FYI, dh and I aren't small people - he is 6'2" and I am 5'11" and we fit on the double/queen beds just fine, it is cozier than at home on our king but we manage.

As far is if an air mattress will fit under the king bed... it might fit but you might have trouble working it under the bed depending on the size of it.

Check out allearsnet.com to see pictures of all of the rooms and I believe the square footage of the rooms are also listed.

POFG, POR or WL are all great resorts and you'd probably be happy at any of them. I can't comment on the WDW transportation because we drive everywhere unless staying at WL and taking the boat to the MK.

I LOVE the Wilderness Lodge. However, not for an extra $1,000. :)

In regard to transportation, I think Port Orleans is more centrally located. You can get to either EPCOT or Magic Kingdom in about the same amount of time.

Thanks guys:thumbsup2 I think we are going to stick with POFQ. POR just doesn't appeal to us that much. That may change once we get there and see it though. I think we are just going to stick it out with the double beds. Last time we went we stayed at AKL first and loved it. Then moved to Pop and DH had his own bed while me and DS shared a bed. There was not a lot of room in the double bed for us both. Maybe if a code comes out for my dates I'll switch but I really can't justify spending $1000 more for a queen bed.

Good choice. POFQ and WL are my family's favorite resorts. If we can find a deal, we will stay at WL. If not, we are happy to stay at POFQ. (We stayed at CS last week and REALLY missed POFQ. CS was nice, but we didn't like it as much.)

FWIW - We made the switch from POFQ to WL for our trip in Nov.

While I liked how POFQ looked, I decided to splurge a bit and switch to WL as I really wanted to stay there.

We stayed at CBR our last trip (and first onsite) and really enjoyed it, but ended up driving to MK most of the time (especially if we just missed a bus), so having the boat or short bus ride to MK was appealing to me.

Someone will know the definite answer to this, but I don't think you would be allowed to stay in a king room with more than 2 people. You are automatically required to stay in a double/double room.

Why don't you do a split stay? It will cut the cost.
We just returned the other night from our split stay. 4 nights at the CB and 4at the WL. We wanted to stay at the WL the entire trip, but really couldn't afford it.
A few differences between a moderate and deluxe resort are that the WL rooms are bigger, queen beds that are much more comfortable, a balcony/patio, flat screen tv, better lighting, inside halls, bigger bathroom including showers, and yes the big difference (and most important for DD) is the 2 ply t.p.
