We stayed at POFQ in 2004 right after their refurb and then we just stayed at POR in Nov. We really like POR better. The theming, the quietness and the lobby are what we liked the best. We found the POFQ a bit noisy. My kids though like the slide at POFQ better, but they're not paying.
I have stayed at both of these resorts and really love both. I was just at POR last month and stayed in the AB section. I really loved the atmosphere here and although you do more walking than at FQ, I loved it. The rustic feeling and the foliage made it actually feel like the "low-country". I've also stayed in the masions section and thought it was so beautiful and romantic. If you are someone who will enjoy walking around the grounds - stay at POR. The grounds are fantastic and great for nice quiet walks.
I stayed at FQ last year and will be there again in April. I chose this one for the size since I have a 4 year old. It is the first bus stop which is nice. FQ feels like you are in a neighborhood of a city and the atmosphere is great. If this appeals to you, stay there. If you prefer the old south and a laid back country type feeling stay at POR.
Both resorts are great as far as I'm concerned. I actually booked POR then changed to POFQ and now am thinking about a split stay between the two...I can't decide either!!!!

We're not going until September, so I've got a lot of time to plan. I didn't realize it was Food & Wine Festival time so we've got lots of planning to do. That's the fun part for me!!
