POFQ or OKW studio?

We are cruising on the Disney Wonder Jan. 19th for 3 nights. Followed by 5 nights at WDW. We have booked the cruise but still trying to figure out where to stay on property.

We are a small cast consisting of my husband, myself and our son (he'll be six). Would you recommend POFQ or OKW studio (which we would rent points from a dvc member)?

We've previously stayed at POFQ and enjoyed it there. Would we miss the food court if we stayed at OKW?

Any advantages of okw studio over POFQ or vice versa?

Is there a big difference in what you will be paying? There is only a $30 difference between OKW and POFQ for us. So I will stay either.

No the price difference is not that significant if I rent points and only stay for 5 nights, sun-thurs. 40 points. Not bad price for the okw studio.

Our son loved POFQ but I think it would be nice to try a new resort.

POFQ can be very romantic. We vacationed there before our son was born. A nice atmosphere at a reasonable cost. We've stayed at a few deluxes too but POFQ is a great value. Now I don't know if I'm talking myself in to POFQ or not. LOL!

I think I am leaning more towards OKW because I "believe" all the rooms have balconies. DH and I enjoy sitting on a balcony and drinking wine!

If you have never stayed at OKW, then I would suggest you go there...just cuz I, personally, am on a mission to stay at every WDW resort. So I think it is great to try new things! Plus, I bet the price is better (40 points for 8 days? You must be going in Value season! Smart gal!) at OKW than POFQ, so why not?

I see you did a 10 year vow renewal at WDW...that must have been awesome. This is going to be our 8 year anniversary trip for DH and I. I have discussed with him doing a vow renewal (LOL..I almost typed the word "removal!" LOL!) on our 10 year...or we may do the Chef's Table at V&A!

Well, I will let you know which resort I pick. I hve stayed neither place so it will all be new to me!

All things being equal as far as finances are concerned I would pick OKW. You will miss the food court, but you will have a microwave, toaster, coffee pot and fridge in the room. Queen sized beds and more overall space as well as balcony add to the atmosphere. There are quiet pools as well as a main pool with a slide and a very friendly relaxed feeling. I've also stayed at POFQ--which I really liked, but I LOVE OKW.

Thanks patsal...Sounds like OKW is a winner. I forgot about the queen beds! Plus, OKW "IS" the cheaper of the two. I am not much of a "food court" person...especially on such a short trip...we will go out to breakfast and dinner both days.

As a slightly biased DVC member whose home resort is OKW, I'd probably choose OKW lol That said, room wise, you'll have 2 queen beds and the kitchenette,a balcony,and a much larger bathroom. The downside though for some is that you will not have daily mousekeeping so if this is important to you, it's something to keep in mind since you'll only have trash-n-towel service on day 4 of your stay but....you also have access to free washer & dryers that are located by all the pools and the main pool has a new pool slide. As for the food court issue, if you'll have a car, you can A. Park right in front of your villa and B. you can always drive over to the food court at POR or FQ as it's right next door
