Hi all! :thumbsup2

My DH and I are taking a "no kids" trip the first week of October and are considering renting points from a generous Dis'er for an OKW studio. The other resort we had in mind is POFQ. In your opinion, which would you choose? We've been to POFQ before and love the atmosphere. We've also been to POR and CB...not really interested in CS. If we get an AP rate, the cost for POFQ would be about the same as the points we may rent for OKW.

So what do you think?

Thanks in advance!

Amy

I LOVE the French Quarter. It's my favorite moderate on Disney property!! It's small, so it's easy to get around this resort. It also has that quaint feeling to it, as well as the boat to DTD.

I haven't stayed at OKW so I can't really speak on it. I have however stayed at POFQ and love it and as you said you have stayed there yourself and loved the atmosphere so, I don't have to tell you how great it is. Even though I haven't stayed at OKW....just from the pics I have seen I don't think I would choose it over POFQ...I know pictures aren't everything but just from what I have seen I think I would enjoy POFQ alot more myself. :wave2:

If you were taking kids at all I would say OKW, for the space and kitchen area. But having stayed at POFQ, I think it has a great peaceful and romantic atmosphere. Plus, and this may be a small thing, you will get daily housekeeping at POFQ, where at OKW (since you'd be staying on points) you only get it on the 4th & 8th days. So, if I were choosing I'd probably pick POFQ.

We stayed at the POFQ on our honeymoon last November - it was a great resort. very quiet and secluded but not too remote from the parks. We were going to stay there again this September but instead are renting points at OKW. If you are using Disney transportation, POFQ has just a single bus stop that it shares with Riverside - sometimes it does not share the bus and goes directly to the park (I think just Epcot and MK). Both have the boats to DTD- which was a nice, unintended benefit of staying at FQ. The rooms were very nice, we ate at Boatwrights once and at the Floatworks a few times - both were nice with plenty of options.

I would say that if it is a toss-up, go with the cheaper resort - we are renting points for ~$130/night at OKW, the POFQ would be $155/night after tax.

OkW, but watch out renting points, You can get hooked. I did and now own.

I would say OKW,
#3 the rooms are larger
#2 the beds are queens vs doubles
#1 THE BALCONY

POFQ 100%... it gives you more of a resort feel, it's quiet and small and a great food court. I didn't like OKW at all, in fact I really REALLY disliked it. It's way to spread out, had an apartment feel to it and no real food court. When I am on vacation, I like to FEEL like i'm on vacation.

Having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine on the porch at OKW is always a special moment for me when we are vacationing so, for me, the porch alone would be reason enough to choose OKW...but POFQ is wonderful, too...rent a boat (either place) for a relaxing ride down the waterways!
