I need your help!

I am surprising my sister with a 4 night trip to WDW in Sept:bday: (free dining!) for her Birthday. We used to go to WDW every year with our family when we were young. We have both been as adults with our own families. Now we are in our 40"s, the kiddies are grown and I would like to treat her to a "just Sisters" trip. We have always stayed at deluxe resorts, but that is just not in my budget now.

I have reservations at PORQ AND CSR. I'm going to have to cancel one soon, but can't decide!! I keep reading posts and changing my mind.
The pool is not that important on a 4 night trip but we may like to relax a bit. We have no need to "rush to all of the parks and see everything" since we have been before. Help me. Those of you who have been to both resorts....What do you think!??:tinker:

Thanks SIS!!! :lmao:

Anyway, I voted for POFQ. I've been to both and I'm not fond of CSR. It's a large resort, POFQ is small only 7 buildings. They both have 4 bus stops, but POFQ is picked up and dropped off first from the parks. Also it has its own bus stop at MK in the evening.

Two things that CSR does not have: boat to DTD (you can take the bus) and 2 sinks. Well, 3 if you throw in beignets.

I voted for POFQ too. I've stayed at POFQ. CBR, and CSR and visited POR to walk around and have breakfast at Boatwrights. CBR was nice but our room was really far from OPR. But you didn't ask about that one did you! I didn't like CSR very much. It was WAY spread out and too desert-like for me. Our room in Ranchos was a mile from El Centro so we didn't eat at Pepper Mkt at all. It was July and too darn hot to walk around. It was pretty at nite however. Also too many suits around took away from the Disney atmosphere. POFQ I loved! It's small so not too much walking. By all means take the boat to DTD. For two sisters traveling that is a real bonus. Also go see the enteertainer in the lounge. POFQ is just a good choice overall for adults! There is nothing bad to say about it! I have wonderful memories of my stay there and I'm a big fan, as you can tell! I hope you and your sis have a great trip wherever you decide to stay.

I voted POFQ, it's a lovely resort. I don't really care for CSR.

POFQ, quiet and compact, everything is no more than a 5 minutes walk point to point. First on bus and first off. Food court is good, grounds are nice, 2 sinks in room, vanity curtain for dressing. All services are good and just an all around pleasant place.:goodvibes

POFQ hands down. I did not like CSR at all. The thought the themeing was nice in the Ranchos area, but it's so far from everything. I found the CMs there to be the least friendly on property. The food court is a night mare. There is a line just to get in, then lines at the food stations, then a line to pay (where they add 10% for the "waiter" who got you your drinks). I thought the busses were a bit of a problem. Sometimes we waited a little while for one. And then the bus always went to the main stop last and left many people behind because it was full (everytime). Also, I felt like I was going to be mowed down by the CMs driving the golf carts through the resorts on all the walking paths. This happened multiple times. I did have a great CM at check-in who let me choose exactly where my room was and what view I wanted.

POFQ is small. It's also Charming. The walks are so pleasant. The CMs at both Port Orleans resorts are some of the friendliest at WDW. (I noticed that when I switched resorts last trip between CSR and POR). Also, the busses at POFQ always stop there first so you always get a seat and then go over to pick up at POR. Also, you have that great boatride to dowtown disney. Beignets, Beignets, Beignets!!!! I like the bar at POFQ more. It's more inviting than the one at CSR. Plus you have POR within walking distance with the new food court there and the great Boatwright's restaurant. Breakfast was so good there. So was dinner.

I guess it's pretty clear how much I love POFQ. I voted for that one by the way. Have fun on your trip!

I would pick CSR! Better food, transportation, lounges and more. They also have a spa and salon on premises.

I voted for POFQ. I've stayed in both. While CSR is a nice resort its the least "Disney" one because it's also a convention hotel/center.

I didn't like the food court, although some do.

I think it would depend. Do you want to feel like you are staying at a Disney hotel - or do you want to get away from it a bit?

I picked POFQ - nice, small resort and the boat to DTD can't be beat!

Thank you for your replys!

I am looking at the poll and it is tied!!!:earsboy:

What's a girl to do!!!???

Either way you will have a wonderful, memorable, "magical" vacation with your sister. I went with my sister 5 years ago. I'm 10 years older than my sis. WE HAD A BLAST!!!:thumbsup2

The vote is so close, I might have to go twice!!

POFQ, multiple stays, we just love the location, the river, the boat ride to DTD. Stayed one night at CSR, just didn't feel like us. I like the food court area of POFQ, I don't like to tip for "fast food". I travel frequently with group of adult women, mostly my Dsis. We both love POFQ and POR. I would even put CBR ahead of CSR.

Thank you for all of your input!

Based on the poll...POFQ is where we will stay! :hippie:
