Hi! Staying for 13 nights in July, currently booked POFQ. We are a family of 4, kids being 10yo, and 7yo. We have stayed at POFQ before and love the small size of the resort. We will be doing 10 days at the parks and a few rest days. My husband would love the space (and extra toilet) of the ASM suites, but I am not so sure about the resort. In all, it would be about $1100 extra to book the suites. Would you keep POFQ or switch to ASM Suites. We will be driving down so we won't be using any of the Disney transportation. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

With resort/rest days I would stick with FQ. There are more things to do around the resort and I think the pool area would be way more fun with those ages, the boat is also fun if you wanted to just walk around springs on a rest day or just ride to Riverside and walk back or something.

I would keep FQ. With rest days I think ASM would get boring. There's much more to do at FQ and Riverside by extension.

I like the small foot print of POFQ, the landscaping and the option of the boat to DS. But that big fridge/kitchen area in the suite and the extra bathroom for a longer stay is a draw. I would probably pay an extra $400 for the suite but not $1100.

A new Disney Chase Visa Discount was released today if you are a cardholder...Check out the link in this thread https://www.disboards.com/threads/disney-visa-summer-discount.3912652/

I would also keep POFQ. At that age my kids loved pool slides. Pool slides are one of the reasons we've never stayed value. Plus the resort is more compact for those resort days. I wouldn't pay an extra $1100 for ASM.

Agree with others. I would stick with POFQ. You will have access to both POFQ and POR pools for variety as well as the boat to DS with more shopping and dining choices.

Thank you all so much for your help in deciding. Deep down I already made my choice on POFQ but wanted the support lol. My husband will just have to deal with sharing the one bathroom with us lol.

Sorry just saw this thread...we have stayed at both and POFQ is one of our favorites, but our stay at ASMu family suite was really nice too! It wasn't even the extra bathroom that stood out to me. It was the ability to have so much space with the ability to have real seating with a couch and chairs. It was also nice to have the kitchenette for our snacks and park gear. At the time our children were 2, 8 and 11. With the separate bedroom we were able to have a quiet area for whoever needed an afternoon power nap...that included hubby and I! :-)

Have you considered a split stay? We love them. It feels like two vacations in one! Maybe start off at ASMu and then end up at POFQ when you are ready for a slower pace.

Your trip sounds wonderful! Have a magical time!

Thanks for your suggestion! I do love the extra space so we're not all on top of each other. We have done split stays before but we prefer to not have to move mid way through the trip. We drive down so we tend to over pack lol.

We are a "value resorts" family. Aside from their affordable price we love their vibe and energy and that they just scream Disney. That being said on our last trip we visited POFQ and discovered what a wonderful little resort it is. We took the boat to Disney Springs and it was wonderful. Yes, extra space is great and you are going for a fairly long time but I would not go from a moderate to a value and pay $1100 extra for the privilege even though in effect you would be getting the space of 2 rooms. That is a lot of family meals paid off right there. However it is a personal choice and you both have to be happy with whatever you choose.

Thanks for your input! I think the answer is clear! :)
