POFQ-Garden or River View

I booked POFQ for the last week of Sept....Yipppeeeeee! Anyway, the CM asked me if I was interested in a Garden or River view. I chose Garden, but I'm wondering if others have thoughts about it one way or another. Would one be closer to the buses or food areas, but also provide a nice view? Thanks in advance for your thoughts on these two "views"

I've never had the pleasure of staying there, but on our trip last month we spent a whole morning just walking around that beautiful resort. The gardens/courtyards are so pretty and its such a small resort you can easily walk down to the river. I wouldn't spend the extra money on that view. Remember, you have only windows, not a balcony, so its not like you will be sitting out enjoying the view. And the walkway or "outside hallway" goes right by these windows, so if it were me, I probably wouldn't want to keep the curtains open anyway. Plus, you never know if you will be upgraded for free, so I would save the money and have some extra beignets

So jealous! That's the next resort I want to try

You cannot go wrong with either view. I have been at both and been very happy.

Thanks for the feedback...when i booked for the free dining those were my only two choices. The other rooms (king/standard) were not available.

Are one or the other closer to the bus stops, food, front desk, etc? But hey if one view is much better than the other, I would probably go with that one

We are checking in one 29th. I hadn't researched the resort and was given the same choice as you. I choose river but wished I had choose garden. I booked online and the riverview stated queen beds but garden did not that was my reason for booking river. I have since found out they are both queen.
I am sure they are both nice

I agree with the previous posters. Both views are great! Every room seemed to be within a short walking distance to busses/food. We loved staying there!

The resort isn't very big so any room is good! We had a standard room last year but when we checked in they put us in a river view. It was very pretty.

I would go with the Garden View. Because the moderate resorts don't have a balcony to sit out and enjoy the view, I never pay extra for River/Water views.

We had a river view at POR and while it was gorgeous... we couldn't actually enjoy it from our room. (usually we were getting ready for parks in the AM and bed in the PM so our curtains were closed, but even with them open, we didn't often sit where we could admire the pretty view). For that reason, I wouldn't spend anymore money on a view.

I would never pay extra for a special view at the moderates and values. Your window opens up to the walkway so everyone can see inside. I would feel weird leaving the curtains open.

Same here. We booked a standard room when it opened up for our dates. But I would go with garden since that is the cheapest.

i'll keep my eye on a standard view. ..when I looked the following day there were no rooms available under dining plan offer...i checked two days later, saw it was available for the week I wanted to go (Sept 23) and they only have garden or river views available, so I went with the garden view. I looked the next day and saw they had standard view showing. I just looked...only garden view available. It's only $10 more a night for the garden view, but if I can save $50 (going 5 nights), I may just do that.

If anything though, I would love a king room which they don't have either.
