Hello!
I am thinking of booking POFQ for our honeymoon in January. We have stayed at POR last year and loved it so we are looking for a similar atmosphere but also want to try a different resort. Or would CSR be better?
Also, does POFQ have quiet pools as well as the big pool? It looks like on the map it just has the one big pool and I really liked the quiet pool at POR....hmmmm....
Thanks for any advice!

The POFQ only has the one pool, it is very large, but you are able to walk over to the POR and use the quiet pools there. The hot tub at the POFQ is nice in that it is secluded, away from the main pool.
The POFQ is a smaller resort, very nice and intimate. It is a good selection for a honeymoon.

Given the choices I think I would choose POR over the POFQ or CSR. Simply for the quiet pools and the grounds. I guess I just don't really care for the themeing at the FQ and the fact that it only has that one pool. I like the fact though that both of those resorts are kinda close to everything and that you can take a boat to DD.

I think POFQ can be very romantic. They have the cobble streets, the gas lamps at night and the resort is very pretty. The colors are so nice.

I also life that the resort is small. Everything is close by.

If you like a "cleaned up" New Orleans theme with cobblestone walks and gas lanterns at night then you will like POFQ. They play a light jazz music throughout. You can catch the boat or bus down to POR and use the quiet pools...or you can walk the path which is also very romantic at night with the lights on the river and the boat that goes up and down.

This resort is much smaller and to us is "quaint"... which we like....

The CSR is a southwest theme and since we live in the SW now, it isn't much of a vacation for us.

Yea a fellow honeymooner! I would say it depends on what you want in looks and themes. POFQ and POR are so close to eachother it's easy to use both amenities. We were looking into staying in a mansion room at the POR. IMHO I just thought it looked a little more romantic. We decided to rent points and stay at a DVC. Good luck on your decision where ever you choose you will have so much fun you are going to be honeymooning at disney afterall!

I went there on my honeymoon. . . 13 years ago.

I haven't been back since, but it was a great honeymoon. I stayed there fore 10 days. It is a small resort compared to some of the others. At that time it wasn't part of POR and POR was called Dixie Landings and POFQ was simply called Port Orleans.

I remember we rode bikes around the resort and rode them to POR which was nice. The hot tub was nice at night. Also at that time they had live entertainment in the Scat Cat Lounge. I don't know if they do that anymore. However, in my opinion, any resort would do because you are really not there too much. Between all the parks and entertainment at Downtown Disney the resort would only be a small part of your honeymoon. Don't forget you have no kids with you so you can party at Downtown Disney every night and do the parks and water parks during the day.

Have a great honeymoon, but more importantly have a fantastic life together. I hope you are has happy as me and my wife.
