POFQ--First Impressions

We just got here tonight--we're DVC owners and have never stayed in a moderate--we've stayed in the Poly, GF, Contemporary, Beach Club, BWV, SSR and OKW in the past. Even though everyone says POFQ is small, you still have to walk--more than I thought. We're in building 6 at the very end (303) and on the 3rd floor, so we have to do the elevator with the stroller. It's still a fair hike up and around the building to get from the elevator, at one end of the building, to our room at the other--not as close as I thought it would be. Of course, it's our first night and we still have that totally "lost" feeling! It will probably seem shorter tomorrow.

The food court was good-check in was slow and the online checkin window (which we did) wasn't open. The pool water is COLD--no 84 degrees, for sure!- and they close the slide at 8, when the lifeguards leave, so we didn't stay. The pool seems very nice, I just don't think it will be warm enough to use this week for us. The boat wasn't running to DTD when we first tried due to wind, but they opened it later. The bus line for DTD was long, of course.

The room is nice but the bathrooms are so small-the tub and commode area. The sink area is quite spacious. The toilets flush SLOW. The first night is always kind of out of sync for me--I'm sure tomorrow will seem like a bright new day and maybe we can find the shortcuts around here!

Hope the rest of your stay is magical. We are planning on staying there next May and are really looking forward to it. We had stayed at POR before and we decided we would go with FQ this. We loved the boat to DTD - so relaxing.

I'll be staying there for the first time in September and appreciate your review. Is the pool supposed to be heated?

We loved POFQ but found that our check-in, mousekeeping, and food court were much better when we stayed at POP. It will be interesting to see what we think when we try it again in 23 days!

Oh, please do!!! I will be anxious to read what you thought about it. I think you responded to one of my other threads. As you know I am also considering upgrading from POP to POFQ. Can't wait for your reviews and pictures!!

POFQ is one of my favorite resorts!! I just love the theme! I can't say anything negative about this resort. I love the simple fact that the bus picks up and drops you off first before heading to POR. The boat ride to DD is relaxing. I love love that it is a very quaint resort. You are very close to everything, except if you were in bldg. #1 and another bldg., which # I forgot.. My favorite bldg. is #3! : ) Enjoy your stay!!
