POFQ bedding and overall cleanliness?

How is it really? I've read some reviews about the bedding being not too clean or changed really during their stay and the overall mousekeeping. Is this true? We really considered doing POFQ for a moderate choice if we didn't upgrade to a deluxe but steered away kinda because of some reviews. I love the theming of the POFQ and so do my kids and it would save some money to be used elsewhere on our trip. Still trying to figure out about our resort choices. Thanks for being patient all :)

First of all, let me say that I'm NOT a germaphobe and while my house is clean, I'm not obsessed with it.

We thought POFQ was very clean when we stayed there. A couple of days into our trip, DH came down with a nasty allergy/sinus thing. I called the front desk just to see if maybe they knew about something blooming that he might have been having the reaction to. Our landscaping at home is very similar to what they have there, so I couldn't figure it out.

Within 30 minutes, they sent housekeeping to totally clean the room (they even changed our bedspreads) and sent an air purifier. They also let us know that they would be using a different cleaning solution in our room. We think it was more a climate thing (it had been very rainy before we left home and it was very dry down there...so that was probably what made him sick)

I thought the room was very clean before they did that, but it just goes to show that they do take room cleanliness very seriously there.

We were there for 10 nights and the beds were changed about 1/2 way through our stay. We felt like the room was thoroughly cleaned every day. The bathroom was always clean and it seemed like they vacummed every day.

I've never had a dirty room at Disney and have stayed at POFQ twice. Course I also wouldn't hesitate to call Mousekeeping to let them know if my room was dirty. If I found it that way after check-in, I'd also ask for a different room.

That said, when I was there in 05 we experienced hurricane Wilma. They had light Mousekeeping that day. Meaning only clean towels and trash dump. Which was no big deal to me. I'd already made the bed, since everything was closed. Oh, it was still storming when this happened. So I was very impressed.

We were happy with the cleanliness while there. It wasn't above and beyond but it was your average hotel room clean.

Just stayed there in December and it was great. I couldn't have been more pleased. So no worries! :thumbsup2

No problems with mousekeeping or the room when we went in July! The room was always clean when we arrived and mousekeeping always managed to find my 15 year old vintage pooh (oh, I would just die without him) that managed to get stuffed down the headboard everynight. They also made a towel animal for our toothbrushes to keep them off the counter-tops. Overall, the service was great. No worries. :goodvibes

I've never had a dirty room at any WDW resort. I'm sure what guests consider unacceptable differs too nor do I get on my hands and knees and start looking for stuff either. I do bring a can of Lysol to spray down everything though.

I used to say I never had a dirty room at Disney till we were given a room that was marked "clean" but appeared to have been used for a "quickie" ;) if you get my drift....... It took all day to get the situation rectified at YC but after the right people were made to understand what I was talking about (they thought we had messed the room up and wanted it "remade", lol), but finally it was made right. Our POFQ room in '05 was okay inside but the resort was a little shabby and littered.

This April will be our 3rd stay @ POFQ - love it there. Clean rooms, friendly staff & beautiful location. Theming in the room & throughout the resort is great. I love to get a cup of tea in the early morning & take a walk along the river. It's very beautiful!

We were there in Oct. 2007. I had heard ahead of time that Disney does not use fitted sheets. Since sheets that shift are something that will keep me from sleeping, I brought along my own bottom sheet. Also, I don't like a bed that isn't made correctly (hospital corners, folded-down top sheet, etc.) and I like my bed made first thing in the morning, so I made my own bed each morning and left a note for mousekeeping each day that it was not necessary for them to do anything with the bed.

As for cleanliness -- I found dust in some out-of-the way places (under the phone, on top of the headboard) but nothing was really dirty. We were very satisfied with mousekeeping (except we never seemed to get fresh shampoo and soaps and only saw one little bottle of hand cream the whole time we were there).

We stayed at POFQ back in October. Our room was clean. We only stayed 3 nights to it's hard to say about changing the bedding.

We were there last May and have no complaints. Our room was always very clean, and our Mousekeeper left us towel animals twice. This resort it lovely, I would definitely encourage you to give it a try.

My DH and I went to POFQ back in December of '06. I am typically very aware of the condition of the hotel room, I've had a bad experince in the past (NOT at Disney!). The room was very clean, comfortable, and the resort was so fun and cozy.

I hope you have a lovely trip! :goodvibes

I have been to Disney about 25 times. In the past few years I probably have stayed at POFQ about 6 times and it remains one of my favorites. I never thought my room was not clean. On the contrary, I thought Mousekeeping was wonderful!!! Not only clean, but when I call for extra pillows, towels, etc....always rec'd without a problem. I'm a fan..can you tell:goodvibes
