I'm a fan of numerous Disney podcasts, but over the years, I've dwindled that list primarily down to the DIS Unplugged and WDW Radio (Lou Mongello) podcasts. Both of these podcasts hit their own niche, IMHO.
The roundtable style of eclectic personalities on the DIS podcasts gives me a well-balanced, overall impression of events/rumors/news/whathaveyou. I find I shift toward the younger folks on the panel like Shaun and Craig because I'm a bit sarcastic and young as well. The other members of the crew and their mix of history and experience with all things Disney help to round out the viewpoints resulting in a podcast that allows me to receive different opinions on the latest topics. IOW, it's just a great place to listen to varying opinions and very entertaining.
Lou's show, WDW Radio, on the other hand, is in some ways a bit more primed on a single topic at a time. What I appreciate about his podcasts are related more to what he's known for: general Disneyana history and trivia. His DSI: Disney Scene Investigations are awesome looks in to the past and in-depth discussions on particular aspects of WDW. For example: his somewhat recent podcast on Space Mountain with past and present facts/trivia. In short, these podcasts grab my attention due to the way he's able to link historical information to the current news or topic of discussion and seems like a very cool guy (as well as his guests).
On their own, both of these podcasts are fine examples of just why it's OK to be a fan of multiple podcasts. Sometimes I get the feeling, in general life, that if you like one (insert item here) then you can't like the other. I don't expect everyone follows that sentiment here, but it's just something that I seem to notice about people's attitudes in general.
So, what I wonder...
Is there at all a working relationship between these podcasts? Have Pete & Company and Lou ever worked together? Is it out of the realm of possibility to ever see a Co-Produced podcast or possibly ever have The DIS invite Lou as a guest (or vice versa; posting in this fashion given the board I'm posting on
)?
I'm not asking for a forevermore podcast joint effort. I am just curious if there's any networking that has occurred in the past or a potential to ever see something like this done as an occasional thing (maybe once a year or so)?
Maybe I'm the only person... but I think that would be pretty darn cool.
