Podcast Intro Show

I loved this show too. -insert warm fuzzies here-

It definitely brought on tears when Bob was discussed. I miss him terribly.

DH and I also enjoyed the show. I started listening to WDW Podcasts last August but only found the Dis Unplugged a couple of months ago while Pete had turned over his hosting duties to the other members of the team. I really appreciated the intro show because I always wondered who Bob was and it's great to know how everyone is connected and came to be a part of the Dis.

My Story:
I am the oldest child of 4 - I have 2 sisters, 1 brother and have lived in New York all my life. I'm a Graphic Designer who was recently laid off due to the economy but I'm very much enjoying the duties of a full time mom and freelance designer. :-) My first trip to WDW was when I was 7 years old in 1988. We stayed off site at a Holiday Inn and went in 'Park Commando' style. I remember starting in Adventureland and going on every single ride in order from left to right. That's when my immediate and extended family really started fill us with the Disney spirit. We sang Disney songs, took lots of pictures, had our first Mickey Bar and just soaked everything in. The highlight of that first trip was my uncle presenting me with a stuffed Dumbo that I had wanted so much. I LOVED it!! (and still have it) My first on property stay was at CBR, and staying in Disney was even more magical than I could have ever dreamed. During the next few years my parents brought us back to Disney a number of times and mostly we stayed on property. My favorite trip was when we first discovered the Beach Club resort. My parents took us to Beaches & Cream and we were SO excited about the incredible sand-bottom pool! The greatest thing about that trip was when my dad and I had a 'father-daughter' dinner at Au Petit Cafe in France and watched the fireworks afterward. My mom had taken my brother and sister back to the hotel while my father and I had decided to venture back into Epcot for a late dinner. It's something I'll always remember and hold close to my heart.

In 2000 I had my first opportunity to visit Disneyland with my fiance' and it was absolutely incredible. I loved knowing that this was Walt's original dream and being able to experience rides like the Matterhorn, Indiana Jones and Alice in Wonderland that aren't in the Magic Kingdom was priceless. When my fiance' and I were married, one week of our honeymoon was going to be in Disney World, and, (can you believe it??) DH had never been!!! It didn't take me long to get him hooked and he's been a Disney enthusiast ever since. We've tried to do the Disney parks many different ways...commando, behind the scenes, hidden Mickey searching, eating our way through...lol. I've been to Disney with one other person as well as with 30 other people at a Disney family reunion in October of 2001. There is always a new experience to be had. The best one by FAR has been with our children. We have a little girl (3 1/2) and a boy (1) who have been to WDW a number of times already. It's so incredible to experience Disney through their eyes and I wouldn't give that up for the world. At this point we've been to Disney so many times and have seen it so many different ways that I would be happy just to go there and walk around for a week without even going on any rides. I just love it! Our newest Disney experience has been as new DVC Members - we finally took the HUGE step and bought into Bay Lake Tower last June. We'll also be taking our very first Disney Cruise next February and we're VERY excited!!

I first joined the DIS message boards in 2003 but felt overwhelmed by so much information...so I had taken a little bit of a break and joined a smaller Disney board for awhile. After listening to the Dis Unplugged I came back to the boards and can now navigate through the sea of information like a pro. :-)

Oh, I also have a small, fluffy, white dog named Coconut. (yes, she's named after the American Girl "Coconut") And my favorite movie is Alice in Wonderland.

Ah! I'm a college student and am surrounded in projects and tests that are all due this coming week, so I have yet to listen to the two most recent shows. But now I can't wait to listen. I always like to hear more about the people behind the podcasts I listen to.

I'm listening to the show now. I never realized that Theresa and Walter were brother and sister-in-law (and not brother and sister). Thanks for letting us get to know you all better!

I love how Kevin and Kathy took a look around at the snow and said, "I've had it with this crap and I'm moving to Florida." And then did it.

Living my dream. ::yes:: I can't hear it talked about enough.

I was finally able to listen, and, boy,was it worth the wait. What a great show! I've listened to every podcast, including another one that was an introduction into everyone's background, how they got together, etc., and it was good but this one is even better. :goodvibes

Sure missed hearing Bob though, so I was really glad they talked about him.

Great job guys!

Going out on top. Jumping the shark (or blowing up the fridge) means you stayed around too long.

This seems to be the most appropriate thread to revive just so I can mention an interesting article in the L.A. Times by the fellow who wrote the "Jump the Shark episode of Happy Days.
