Podcast Cruise 6.0!!! Official Info

Royal's having another sale on things during the cruise this weekend. I had prepurchased the Voom internet package at $88.13, with the new sale it's $62.93. You need to cancel the prior purchase and then purchased it again. It's a pain but what the heck, it's saving money!

Thanks! I am trying to decide if I want to get the internet package or not. One of the things I have liked from cruises in the past is being disconnected from everything. However, I also like to be able to use social media whenever I travel. I have many friends and family that always likes to watch my postings when I am out and about and I also like the ability to reach out to someone if I can.

However, during my last WDW vacation, I had a client break a website we were launching. This ended up causing me to try to code via my phone while in queues for lines and then 6 hours of work that night. If they cannot reach me, I would not be tempted to work at all!

Still deciding, but this price for internet is a little bit more reasonable, even though it is still pretty steep.

Remember that if your phone supports WiFi calling via your service provided you can use the Voom service to make and receive phone calls, which I also consider a plus since I have a mother in a memory care unit and like to stay available in case of problems.

Even if your service provider or phone doesn't support Wifi calling, you can still do it with things like WhatsApp, Skype, or Facebook.

When I go in, it is only showing me one Internet package option: Surf and Stream 1 Device for $8.99/day. Before, it showed me the base Surf 1 Device package for the same price. How do I see all of the available package options?

When we booked the cruise our dinner time on the confirmation said 8:30. I made reservations for shows that are 7:30-8:15. Now I'm seeing our dinner time is scheduled for 8:00. Has anyone else run into this problem? Will they allow us to show up late for dinner?

Did you try rescheduling your dinner (if you are on My Time Dining)?

Thank you for the heads up!!

what is a slots tournament and how does it work?
Basically they rope off a section of slots. Each player starts playing at the designated time with a set number of credits loaded on the machine. You play for the allotted time. At the end of that time, the player with the most credits wins (along with a 2nd and 3rd place typically).

I just broke down and bought the internet packages for us. I was going to just do one device and we could take turns using it but then my wife and I would have no way to communicate with each other if we split up. So I got 2 packages. This way, we can do wifi calling or texting back and forth.

What excursions are you all doing? I think we may do the High Tea in Falmouth. That looks like a nice relaxing activity.
ETA: We are definitely doing this. I hope some fellow DISers will join us.

When we went on the Allure, I bought two-way radios for us to use when we split up. My fear was with the ship being so big, it would be hard for us to find each other. They worked great. They were so good, I was able to get off the ship in Jamaica while she was still getting ready and we still communicated. We have been able to use them a few more times since then and will be taking them on the ship again. Just another option for those who want to stay in contact, but not get the internet package: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001UE6MJ8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hi, everyone. I never had us added to the list of cruisers.

12620 - aw24 - Ann & Tommy

This will be our first RCCL cruise and I must say I am a little overwhelmed with trying to figure out show days and times and dinner times. I did book some shows but since we are on my time dining we will just show up when we are ready and hope for the best. If it does not work out well the first couple of nights we may have to make some ressies.

We are trying to decide what to do in Falmouth. We are not beach people so looking at Island tour and shopping or High Tea. We need to decide before the sale ends tonight. Anyone have any thoughts on these two excursions?

Ann

Welcome! Seems we will be cabin neighbors.

I just booked High Tea today so we'll be there.

Hello Everyone! I am so excited, today is our 1 month mark....as we will leave Virginia on the 2nd of December to make the drive to Port Canaveral. I am so looking forward to this cruise...seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I'm also excited to see the look on my son in law when he sees the ship for the first time.....we've tried to tell him how large the ship will be and he just can't imagine it.

When you first step on board ship, you think you're in a shopping mall.

I'm looking forward to seeing the ship. I just have to stay in the mindset that it won't be like other cruises we've taken. That isn't good or bad. It's just different. We like a ship looking like a ship but I'm sure we won't have any problem with a ship that looks like a mall. We've watched a bunch of videos on YouTube and I'm heading straight for the Rising Tide bar ;).
