Podcast Cruise 3.0 - 06/24/2012

Having never cruised with a child before Val & I are totally unaware of lots of stuff kid related. Please bear with us on this and subsequent questions.

We have registered Connor (9YO) for the kids club as part of our online registration. On the two days that we are at Castaway Cay, are there special kids club activities on the island?

I understand that shorts and tank tops are not appropriate for anybody (children included) in the main dining rooms. Assuming we can even convince Connor to join us in the main dining room one night, will he be OK in jeans? A t-shirt? Or will he need something a bit nicer?

Val & I have our same podcast t-shirts and we also got one for Connor. But I'm still waiting to see what Corey comes up with for a logo.

On CC days, the Kid's Club programming moves to the island for the day. They have a ton of kid activities. I remember having to drag Ian out of the Dino dig area when he went 3 years ago.

In the terminal, no. Once on board, when he's ready to go to the club, you need to pick up a wristband.

Ian will be in jeans or khaki pants and a nicer t-shirt. Depending upon which dinner seating you have, you can request kids meals to come to the table quicker than the adult meals. Then about half way through dinner, counselors from the clubs come down and take the kids to the club that want to go. I plan to use it as bribery to get my slow-eating bunch to get finished quicker!

Great info Christy!!!! I'm sure we aren't the only ones to have such questions.

Val & I are doing Palo one night and our plan is to have Connor eat in the club that night. Anything special we need to do for that? Just tell the counselors?

Unless things have changed, this only applies to late seating. During early seating, we would just take turns with the other parents at the table walking all the kids to the club. They can check themselves in...just need someone on their list to check them out.
