Podcast Cruise 2.0 Thread 4.0

As excited as I am about the December cruise and my days days in the parks, I am quite willing to wait to find out about special events planned by the podcast team.

I know that they are planning cool activities. I trust them.
I know that there will be a concert with Jodi Benson, a conversation with Bob Gurr, Charlie Ridgeway and Lee Cockerell.
I do not need to know exactly when. And I am okay if they get "all the ducks in a row" before giving us details.

Sorry - the Single Ladies dance is no longer on the table :lmao:

The issue I am having is I don't want anyone to miss out on anything that's being said or planned. I just posted on that other thread a reply to the whole scheduling thing - now do I link to it or reference it :confused3

And, like Kevin's post above, if we post there and repost here and it doesn't make sense people seem to read into it hidden meanings.

I understand everyone is anxious for details about the cruise and that will spark conversation related to the cruise. As soon as I know anything I will post it - on the Adventures by Disney Board :rotfl2:

Understandable, its just hard to keep up the "Move it, shake it, celebrate it!" fervor after 15½ months. Even I need a breather and a glass of diet coke...yeah....diet coke....;););)

I prefer something to be added to my Diet Coke. :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2 Jack Daniels

First off, I want to say to Kathy that I'm sorry she can't be on the cruise, but the reason is more than understandable. We'll miss you, but family comes first. :thumbsup2

Is there a rumpus room?
Only on Carousel of Progress. Mother gets paint splashed all over her rump..er..rumpus room. ;)

And because of the greatest sports trade in history, Oswald will be in it.

I wonder how Al Michaels feels about that? :rotfl2:

Got it. I thikn that that just means that if you announced today that you are going to host a session of "How To Do The Hokey Pokey" that we would all be talking about it and how exciting it was. Since there has been nothing released, conversation is quiet. Not, we're leaving because you won't tell us anything.

BUT, I do think it would be a good idea for you to have a session where you teach us some kind of dance.

Forget the Single Ladies dance. I'm picturing them doing the Evolution of Dance, and I'm just sitting here giggling thinking about that.

I wanted to add my own editorial. I wouldn't have chosen a 4 day Bahamas cruise if I was randomly picking a Disney Cruise. I wouldn't. I like cruises that are at least a week long.

The only reason I'm going on this cruise is to be with a bunch of people with whom I know I can have a fun time. That's it. The people.

All the bells and whistles are just gravy on top of that. :goodvibes

Anybody else feel that way about this cruise?

Oh, and since I've paid off my cruise balance, I just received my trip insurance documents in the mail yesterday. Woohoo!

I agree.
I haven't met the people yet, so I am taking it on faith that the people part will be all good.
The bells and whistles from the podcast team are what made me chose a Disney cruise and this particular Disney cruise.

:wave2:

I am having a CRAZY day at work. Not what I had envisioned for today at all.

I don't care what else is offered, I just know I can't wait to attend the Hokey Pokey seminar! :thumbsup2

Sorry this is OT but some of you know I've been following Epic Mickey closely. New this week, Warren Specter is already talking "sequel" for this game. :thumbsup2

And yesterday a collectors edition was announced. Cool stuff. :goodvibes Still no actual release date though. Probably some time in November as has been hinted.

For $69.99, the Epic Mickey Collector's Edition includes:

- Special packaging

- Disney Epic Mickey Game

- Exclusive 5 inch Collectible Vinyl Epic Mickey Figure

- Special Edition DVD with behind the scenes footage and additional marketing assets and videos

- Epic Mickey Stylized Wii Remote Faceplate

- 2 Epic Mickey Stylized Wii Console skins

Cannot wait for this :goodvibes It looks awesome and I think the game will appeal to and be playable by a fairly wide audience.

Have you played Kingdom Hearts George? I loved them so much, really hope they do a third chapter :thumbsup2

I normally put up our tree right after Thanksgiving (use a fake tree) and then decorate the outside...I think this year things will get done early...2 weeks from Thanksgiving we leave, so that doesn't give us much time.

Knowing my daughter, she will start putting up the outside lights early in November so that after Thanksgiving she can work on the lawn ornaments....plus buying any gifts and wrapping them before we leave.....

Not sure if I will bother yet :confused3 We'll be away over Christmas and don't have many people visiting (we don't decorate outside) but do have a mini fake tree I picked up last year for less than £1 :thumbsup2

Folks....I posted this on the Podcast Cruise thread on the DCL Board...but since we have two parties going on....I'll post it here as well.

**************************************************************

You are just going to have to trust me when I tell you that there is NOTHING we'd like better to post the podcast cruise schedule of events.

This would be a HUGE accomplishment and take a giant work load off John and others. I can guarantee that John will have a little party when this happens.

The reason that this hasnt happened, is that scheduling this is a logistical nightmare. Where, on an already crowed ship, do you you put this many people.

John posted a thread asking people whether Castaway Cay was a good idea for a Podcast recording. You saw what happened with that. You, yourself questioned why we were doing that. The reason we're doing that is because finding a time and place to schedule the recording, a concert with Jodi Benson, a conversation with Bob Gurr, Charlie Ridgeway and Lee Cockerell and all of the other things we'd like to do, in already busy schedule, is like pushing an angry elephant uphill.

These are the BIG issues. There a bazillion smaller issues to deal with. (ex. Will DCL have an appropriate electrical connection for the recording equipment or musical equipment?) Each of these takes many, many, many phones calls and compromise.

Please understand that this is not the Dis trying to be coy or create anticipation. This is a whole bunch of people trying desperately to make sure that you have the very best experience possible and a choice of experiences you might not have a chance experience elsewhere.

We are trying, with everything we have at our disposal, to get this information out to everyone and to insure a successful event. And to hear that the "party has died" or that people are unhappy with us for whatever reason makes us wonder (no pun intended) what else we can humanly do to make this better/ easier/ faster.

I hope this makes things easier to understand.

I'm just bobbing along - I can imagine how much goes into just organising just one of these events let alone all the amazing things you have lined up :thumbsup2 But thanks for letting us know where you are up to, I thought this thread was going at a normal pace - I've been here on my own before and other times there were 20 pages overnight :confused3 You don't need to do anything to make it 'better/ easier/ faster' IMHO.

Single Ladies! Single Ladies! Single Ladies! Single Ladies! Single Ladies!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'll keep an eye out - thanks John ;)

I was thinking how much fun a salsa lesson would be - but I can Hokey Pokey (or as we say Cokey) too :goodvibes

Are we still going to keep this thread alive, or do you think people are going to the "other room" in the Cruise Boards? :confused3

In my days as a College Program Cast Member, I learned that is essential to keep the party moving. Progressing from one room to another, sometimes switching apartments, inevitably wandering into another building...sometimes even venturing over to the other dorms.

More important lesson-always carry your resident ID and remember where you took off your pants.....

I totally agree! :thumbsup2 It wasn't the secret announcement that was made while we were on ABD 1.0 that sold us on PCC 2.0, it was the people we met and became friends wth that convinced us "We need to be on that cruise!!!". :goodvibes
