Unfortunately, I am guarenteed to have a lot of emails - just the nature of my job but hopefully it will not be so overwhelming.

I am sorry to hear that everything is not running smoothly today. Make sure you don't spill acid on yourself again.

Think of it this way, another thing for your resume, good experience to be able to share of how you handled the lab while others are out:upsidedow

Well I hope the e-mails you do get are easy ones :goodvibes

At least it's only a couple of times a year I have to run the show! Shame they don't pay me more for doing it though  But yes, it's excellent experience and it's noticed I cope quite well ;) I can't complain as other have to cover me while we go away (and I'm not really supposed to take off more than two weeks at a time and in Dec I've got 12 days off before Christmas :cool1:)

Have you seen the thread about the ABD London/Paris/DLRP?

I'm hoping it's not too expensive or if it is we can visit DLRP at the same time :thumbsup2

I am pretty lucky in my job and don't have to worry about length of time I request off. Of course, it could be more of an issue if I used my leave time more. I tend to hoard time off and frequently end up in a use or lose situation. I have done better this year with not getting myself in that position.

I have not been following the thread but I am aware of it. Traveling to London/Paris is on my wish list - not sure ABD is what I am looking for as I want to do more than London, would like to get to Scotland, I am a history buff so would love to get to as many historical places as I can. So one of these days I will be planning a major trip or two...

I guess it is time to stop procrastinating and deal with the fireworks.

I enrolled my 13 year old in summer school this year as she had a lot of issues with attending to her school work. Today is the last day but it has been an increasing volume of resistance in the morning. Yesterday she made the bus by seconds.

Wish me luck on this last day!

Good luck :goodvibes Sounds like by brother used to be, it would take an atomic bomb to get him out of bed to go to school  I hope she grows out of it (my bro never did but I bet he wishes he could have easy days at school compared to the three jobs he does now!)

Oh and I hope you can make it to the UK one day. I'm happy to help if you need any info or suggestions :thumbsup2 I'd love to see more of America - esp. the west coast. But WDW keeps calling us
When I looked at the itinerary for the London Paris trip it didn't seem like enough time to me. There are so many things to do in both cities and the surrounding area.

Oh, gee, I feel sorry for you for having to keep after your daughter.
And sorry for her, too. We a all know that school is important. But if she didn't
T attend to her school work during the school year, would it be any better in the summer when all her friends are playing and enjoying the summer off?
My summers almost always included math summer school classes.

Good Morning Everyone..another HOT day in store....wish this heat wave would just go away. I hope you all have a great day !!!

Yes! There is much more to this country than WDW. MUCH MORE! WDW is not at all representative off all we have to offer.

I tend to agree with you about then ABD London Paris trip. Quickly skims the highlights. And I did many of those 25 years ago with my mother, sister and uncle.

Good Morning Anne & Becky!

It is my last day of work too, as I am also headed to Chicago tomorrow.

The Paris/London Trip intrigues me, but I think the price base will be out of my budget range looking at the cost of the tour without DLP on the ABD website.

Morning Lyn :yay:

Oh I totally agree - even within Florida (I've been to Panama City Beach and Key Largo) it's varied! I've seen quite a lot of the east coast, I'd love to see Maine as I'm a big Stephen King fan. I also find New England to be very beautiful (DH loved Vermont when we went there a few years ago).
The same is true in the UK as well, there are probably more similarities nationwide than the USA but there are plenty of differences :goodvibes

Hi Tracey

I would love to do an ABD DLRP trip like the CA Disneyland one, even if it was shorter I'd still pay that sort of price (~$2,500 each). Trouble is DLRP is pretty expensive, accomadation and food plus if the exchange rate is bad :guilty:

Anne and Becky were our early birds on the thread this morning. And Tonya's clip art. Or was that last night?

ABD are always expensive, I think, compared with other trips to same place. Tempting to go with with the podcast group, but I have seem most of the highlights of those two cities with family.

Well, yesterday was a pretty expensive day for me.

I booked like a banshee (ok, you interpret what that means!) to get my Food and Wine Festival events, but then later that night...

...I purchased my airfare for December!

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I'm now officially "official"! Woohoo!

Ok, so I haven't given Tracy my final payment for the cruise, but I'm doing that in September. This was just another milestone towards the cruise. :goodvibes

Can't wait to share a drink, or two, or three....

Morning!! Happy Friday Eve!

Last official day of work for me this week - what that means is I am doing work stuff in the morning tomorrow even though I am supposed to be off.

I have one of those days scheduled today - back to back meetings.

Packing tonight - cuzz I am going to Chicago tomorrow:banana::banana::banana:

H

Lucky you. I am still struggling getting back in the swing of things after 3 weeks on vacation. I am still calling all the new people "hey you" I told them yesterday I'll try to learn all their names by Christmas.

From my perspective the clip art was at stupid o'clock this morning, but probably just a few hours before stupid o'clock to you

I agree if you've seen these places already you could have a much longer and varied trip for the same cost (probably including airfare!)

Well if you remember them all by early December then you go on this cruise then you will have forgotten them again - is it worth the bother? Maybe get everyone to wear a name tag?

For those taking their own transportation or car service, what time do you plan to arrive at the terminal???? What time do they start boarding the ship? We're lowly Silver Castaway Club Members. This will be our fourth DCL cruise. I don't think we get any special pre-boarding (or do we?) We haven't cruised since they started the caste system. :lmao: (JK)

:goodvibes Jennifer

Transport will get us there with plenty of time (I want to say noonish). Waiting around the terminal was only nice because there were other DISers to mingle with. Getting there at dawn thirty would be mighty extreme. I would agree with Jen, leaving by 10-11ish would be good.

Two things:
First, miss lab director, who do I address my resume to you in the UK?

Second, wasn't the point of the Euro to help alleviate the intra continental exchange rate issues?:confused3

Isn't that just in time for them to go away again?

Happy Thursday!!!

Yesterday felt like Friday. Today feels like Friday. I hope tomorrow doesn't feel like Monday....doesn't matter I'm leaving work at 3 regardless.:goodvibes

Morning All!

Those traveling to Chi-town tomorrow don't forget Oprah does live tapings...hehehehe (this coming from someone whom can not sit through a whole Oprah show...:rotfl:).

Tonya...love the clipart. You might see some on one of my cabin doors. :goodvibes

Love "stupid o'clock".

I have gotten laughs when I have used it as in "I booked a flight that leaves at 1:00 in the afternoon instead of at stupid o'clock before 6AM."

You are quite welcome to come here if you want Todd ;) We could do an exchange program, you come over here for a while and get to play with chemicals then I could visit you and help you out - and have a Dis meet :yay:

And yeah, I think the point of the Euro was to make Europeans pay more in general, when the switch over came most prices were raised and you ended up paying a little bit more for everything. And now the Euro has come close to be 1:1 with the pound (it started off as 1.8 I think!)
But also the dollar isn't very stong meaning for you guys it costs more to come here :sad2:
