Good afternoon everyone. My mom is going to be here all week. She said she needed a vacation, and she wants to come and help me pack, silly lady :) But, I'll gladly take the help. Now, if I only knew where I was moving....

I attended the wine tasting on PCC 1.0 thanks to Mindy. I'm definately doing that again and after seeing Jaime and Shanan's trip reports, I'm going to do the martini tasting. Yup both, THREE DAYS IN A ROW. :woohoo:

If you can actually book it multiple days. :)

Very sad that you won't be at DAP :( Exactly what IS a planned sick day, though???

Maybe that is my problem - I need to get more sleep so I will be more fun?
Yeah, I am sad too! But I gotta be responsible . A planned sick day is basically I tell my supervisor that I am taking a sick day tomorrow. I don't actually call in the day of.
I think I need more sleep too! :scared:

Shanan: how was Chris?!!! :cool1: I wanted to see Coldplay so bad but had to miss it cuz they came when the in-laws were here :headache:

A torando ripped thru our parts on Saturday :scared: we don't usually get them here...good thing all we got was TORRENTIAL rain. Make it a great week all! pixiedust:

Hi Karen! Coldplay is always great! I have seen them on every tour since 2001 :yay:! It was very cool though, they played a cover of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean acoustically.

I am glad that all you got was Torrential rain! I hope nothing is flooded!! :scared1:

Hmmm.....that is interesting...I haven't even posted my martini tasting day yet! Hee hee! But I am sure you got the jist of it from Jaime's TR. WOW! Three days in a row of tasting?!?! Really? What about the podcast events? :rotfl:

Scott- I am glad your FIL is feeling better! I hope it continues!!

Nicole- That is great that your mother is coming to help pack! I am sure you will find some place to live

Hi all, I'm back....missed a lot but glad to be back on the boards quickly ;)

Morning all :cool1: 2 days down - almost, 3 to go!

It's actually a gorgeous day here, really don't want to be at work, oh well!

I'm looking forward to the weekend as we're seeing our friends we're taking to WDW to go over a few things. We've booked Kouzinna now (opens in Aug apparently) and I'm hoping it will be as good as Spoodles in May :lovestruc I had the ravioli and I could just eat up a huge bowl right now popcorn::

We had some bad news yesterday one of Gav's grandmothers slipped and fell and broke her hip :scared1: luckily Gav's uncle was there but she is in hospital waiting for the op. We're going to see what the visiting policy is (with all this swine flu thing going on we're not sure if just anyone can visit) and maybe pop in one night this week.

I should be getting the replacement cable I ordered for our Dyson vacuum cleaner (the old one stopped working and we think it's the cable as it almost came on when we wiggled it!) today and it's about time as the house is a mess :scared1: I do hope it is the cable that was the problem :confused3

Good morning everyone! :)
Becky tell Gav I hope his grandmother comes through the op good.
I know when my grandmother fell and broke her hip she was never the same after. The bones just never healed very well.
Have fun with the trip planning. :thumbsup2

Yea Karen, kinda. I was out of town a lot then had surgery to have my gall bladder removed yesterday. If you were on Facebook you would know all this......just say'en :rolleyes1

Hey, everyone!
Hope all is going well for you and your kin.

This is my last day in my mother's house. Only it is not her's - it belongs to her estate, which is the four of us.

This afternoon, I fly back home. I leave my brother alone in the house. For the past several years, his primary responsibility has been caring for Mom. This will be a time of major transition for him. He needs to be looking for a job, and this is not a great time for that in this economy.

I will be happy to be back at home and in my own routines. But it will be hard knowing my mother is not around any more.

What I am really looking forward to... getting caught up on the podcasts!

Good morning everyone. We found out out this morning we won't be moving out of town, so plans continue to move into our rental home.

I hope your brother will be okay - seems like his world has really taken a turn.

My mother & I talked on the phone every Sunday at 10:00am sometimes for well over an hour. She passed away 4 years ago. Even now, on Sunday mornings when I look at the clock, my mind still says " Oh - Mom will be calling soon" - for the first few weeks after she died - I had to have my Sunday morning coffee in the living room instead of the kitchen - just couldn't bring myself to see that damn clock....

It takes awhile, but eventually it doesn't hurt so bad

Thanks for the kind words. My family has spread out - sister in Buffalo, brother in Syracuse, me in Maine, and the other brother still at home. The hope is that we will still stay close now that we will not gather at Mom's.

Your story about your mother will be a bit true for me, too. There are jsut somethings that are meant to be shared with a mother!

But, I am home now... and have downloaded the podcasts. Time now for some sleep.

O.K. guy's I just thought I would post this and get it over with, as I didn't know where to post this....DAP or Cruise2.0

It's my 2000th post!:dance3::dance3::cheer2::cheer2::yay::woohoo:

Thanks guys, I got it wrong she actually broke her shoulder blade :scared1: she had already had both hips replaced. She should be having the op today - we may see her but the visiting HOUR is 6-7pm! Crazy and you can guess how full the car park will be :sad2:

Did you have stones? My Mum got to keep hers :scared: She had key hole surgery and the scars were tiny!

 I hope it gets easier for you and good luck to your brother in finding a job. I know Gav's Mum was the glue that held the family together, it's strange how different things have been since she passed. We still see everyone though not as frequently and not all together.
Enjoy the podcasts :thumbsup2
