Thanks - I did try that before posting but it's not specifically mentioned in the show notes or summary. I have a feeling it might have been a response to a listener question...
In that case, maybe we can extoll the virtues of our favorite resorts!
Value:
I like Pop Century best. Not only do I think they improved upon the All Star Resorts concept, I like that there's only one bus stop, not multiple as most of the other resorts. I like it enough as a cheaper place to rest my head, that I book that as my "go to" resort for convenience and price.
Moderate:
I love the Port Orleans resorts. Both French Quarter and Riverside have wonderful theming and landscaping. It's hard for me to pick one vs. the other because I love them both. Convenience-wise, FQ has one bus stop, but it will often make the 4 other bus stops at Riverside if the bus isn't full. I love the lush landscaping of Riverside better, especially Alligator Bayou. My sister, who is big on country Victorian in her decor, would prefer the Mansions area.
Deluxe:
I'm pretty much happy with every deluxe I've tried, but I bought DVC at Beach Club Villas due to its convenient location to Epcot and the Stormalong Bay pool complex.
Of course, if you have a family with more than 4 people, you'd need to consider your options for resorts that can accommodate you. Often you'll need two rooms. But All Star Music has the Family Suites, and the Fort Wilderness Cabins are now considered Moderates and can sleep up to 6, I believe. Or you can read the FAQ on the DVC Rent/Trade forum and rent points for accommodations to sleep your party. It's MUCH cheaper than paying Disney the cash value. It just takes some research.
I can chime in on many other resorts, but I figured I'd throw in my thoughts on one resort for each price level.
