PodCast 4.0 Chit Chat

Hi Steven,

We will most likely stay at BLT, one of our home resorts. We plan to visit as many hotels the week before to see the Christmas decorations, something we have never done. So being on the monorail gives us quick access to a few.

We did that last year and it was awesome...the decorations are beautiful !!!

Hi everyone....another hot, humid and hazy day here...and it's only the beginning of summer...hope you all stay cool...

It's another rainy day here in Philly but the weekend is shaping up to be really nice. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

We've had the AC off since Wednesday night, and I love it!

Wow....I wish...mine only stops late at night and then comes back on right after I leave for work.....it's due to get a little cooler this weekend....mid to high 80s....

Here's wishing everyone a great weekend !!

WHAT A GREAT IDEA to visit the resorts to see the Christmas decorations! I will have to BORROW that idea!

We do thie every year - in November they are putting up the Gingerbread house in the GF and they give out pieces of the gingerbread to onlookers. Then, we go again at the beginning of Dec and check out all of the Deluxe resorts - my fave is the Wilderness Lodge, followed by the Boardwalk. They are decorated so very lovely!!! This is a family tradition.

We missed the GF last year....it will be a 1st stop next year.

Good Morning Everyone...i hope you all had a great weekend....mine was great except we had a MAJOR storm Friday night (which I slept through) and it took out my satelite receiver....had to watch DVDs all weekend...the repair man is coming out this morning sometime to replace it.

In case anyone is counting...we only have 529 days !!!!

Good Morning everyone.

It's another beautiful day here in Philly. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Morning Chuck.....its a nice day here in Va. Beach too....except for the humidity and the smoke from the fire in North Carolina that's been burning for a couple of weeks now...stinks out there....ugg...we had some major rain last night and due for more tonight...hopefully that will help in N.C.

The news said the fire was 100% contained. So there is hope that it will get better.

That is GOOD news...I didn't hear anything on the news this AM...but I wasn't paying to close attention as I was running late...

That is the one thing I did catch. My DH works in NC so sometimes he smells the fire.

I can pretty much guarantee that my airfare is going to cost more than my cruise on pretty much every trip. Which is why us "internationals" tend to stay a lot longer at WDW - we have to justify the cost of the airfare.

I fully understand! This is why a cruise of less than 7 days is practically of no value to me. The only reason I would cruise on a short haul is if I combined a land vacation of some kind in or near the embarkation port.

It's amazing that the economies of scale can make a trip upon
a ship including entertainment and food near that of airline tickets! I realize lack of union labor and American taxes, and larger volumes get the prices down on cruises, but it's still amazing how the two compare.

So yes - one must make the most of an airline flight! I fully respect that...

I am with you Cheri - A/C is running practically all the time and I don't keep it at sub Arctic levels - just a modest 79! The 100 degree days are hitting us way too early this summer...we've begun to pray for hurricanes to come up the Texas coast - since we are 5 hours from them - the remnants we get from hurricanes are healthy respites!

My 3 previous Disney cruises were 4-day ones, but all included additional time at WDW. I have had my share of short trips to WDW, but with higher airfares - I'm staying longer and going less often. Well...maybe not THAT much less often! :teeth:

It's still cheaper for us to drive. With the drive-time, trips are at least 7 days.
Buying 4 tickets - OUCH. If it were just 2 of us, we'd fly because gas is so high.

We really have no choice but to fly...because of work schedules, we can't leave here until Friday night, and I wouldn't want to chance something happening on the way down and miss the ship. Plus, we want to spend the rest of the weekend at WDW after the cruise....all of us will have to return to work on Monday. From here though, the flights can be pretty reasonable....for PCC 2.0, I was able to get flights down for $59.00 a person and $79.00 back.
