Pocket PC GPS/Nat-Nav in Orlando

I was lucky enough to get one of the recent HP Ipaq + GPS receiver deals in PC Worlde recently, and I would like to take it to Orlando with me in a few months.
It came with TomTom3 voice navigation software, but it seems that there are no US maps for this program.

Has anyone used a similar setup over in Orlando, and if so, what Software did you use, and how much did it cost, and where did you get it, etc etc.

In order to use your Tom Tom Navigation system in the US you will need to purchase the map software for the US. The following link takes you to one site where I have found the product, if you google it you may find more.

Blimey, thats a bit pricey. It seems to be the full software that though, whereas I think I just need the maps add on ????

I had a look at mapopolis, which appears to be a free download and you buy the maps you need....Orange County was just $12.95.
The only problem is knowing if it is going to work before you get there, as your screwed if anythings wrong.

Why? HP/Compaq is an international brand - are you not more likely to be able to get US mapping software in the US? And probably cheaper in $$.

Try CompUSA or BestBuy, maybe even Staples or Walmart.

The GPS part is irrelevant - whatever mapping software you have the GPS data stream is the same.

Its all very well buying the software, but how do I port it over to the PPC, I will have no PC over there !
