PoC ride question re: end scene

When Jack is in the rocking chair with the loot, he has a round gold object in his hand with a red jewel in the center. Am I reaching, or is it the top piece from the staff in Indiana Jones?

Interesting thought, but I doubt it. The medallion in Raiders had the one large jewel in the center. Sparrow's medallion at the end of the ride seems to have several jewels around the edges. But who knows. Maybe its a tease for Pirates of the Mediterranean

Huh. I didn't notice other jewels on it, just the center one, but it is dark in there!

Indy piece has what looks like a bird head in the center, with a single jewel.

Captain Jack has a jewel in the middle, but no bird head, and is surrounded by 6 other jewels.

Sorry to hijack this but I need to ask about something. Is the drop new or hasn't the always been there? We rode this year and don't remember the drop when we first rode in 2010 when we did Disney for the first time. Thanks!

Drop has always been there.

As a small child, it was the first ride I ever rode that included a drop. The fact that it was a drop in the dark made it the most exciting thing my seven year old mind could conceive of!
