Poblanos Peppers?

We enjoyed the spoonbread at WDW's Crystal Palace in March and our server kindly provided us with the recipe -- one of the ingredients is poblanos peppers. Where would one start looking for a poblanos pepper? We have lots of green, red and yellow bell peppers around in the grocery stores -- but nothing so specialized in the produce section.

Poblano peppers are readily available in cans in any grocery that has "Hispanic" foods. Our Dominicks (Safeway) has them as a regular item.

You can usually find them in the produce department with the chili peppers (jalapeno, habanero, serrano, etc). They can also be labeled ancho chilis. They are larger peppers, not quite as large as bell peppers though. The link I provided will show you a picture so you know what you are actually looking for.

Guess I'm spoiled when it comes to certain grocery items cause every store in town has them in the produce section here. Poblanos are the peppers they use in Chili Rieno. They are also the dried peppers that are called Ancho. I use the dried in making Chili all the time. We lived in Calgary for a time and believe me it was hard to get a lot of the stuff I needed for making good Tex Mex food and there were no resturants in town that served it.

Maybe they used them to entice the child porn stars to act the part they were supposed to play in the movie Titanic.
