Hi to all.
Over the last 4 years Me and family (DW, DD13 and DD10) have managed 3 vacations in Florida. Last July finally got to stay on property at CBR and loved it.
Thinking long and hard about going back this year (prob August). Choice is really between POR and WL. Main issue is cost, as we're in the UK this is a 14 night gig for us and to all intents and purposes discount codes are a non-starter.
So is saying in WL worth an extra $1200 for the fortnight ???
Over to the experts.

Thanks and regards
Michael

Hello Michael from Bonnie Scotland :wave2: and welcome!.

Your question is about my personal 2 favorite hotels on WDW property.

If cost is the main issue, I would probably stay at POR. We always stayed at POR prior to our occasional stay at WL. Then in 2001 we bought into VWL and we stayed there exclusivly-until this past December. We stayed at POR for 2 nights prior to checking into VWL and it was wonderful. I had forgotten how much we love that place. So for that much extra $$, I really don't think WL is worth it (I cannot believe I just said that!). Now if it were December, I would have to struggle with the decision :earsgirl: .

Happy Planning! :cool1:

These are two of my favorite resorts! I prefer WL for a few reasons. First of all, you have the option of taking the boat to MK, which is a lovely ride. I don't really like the buses, as they often seem to take a long time to get places (no matter which resort you stay at). We have a toddler, so it is so nice to just catch the boat to MK (we spend the most time at MK). I prefer the layout of WL over POR. I particularly like the interior corridors and the balconies. That being said, is it worth it for $1200 more? That's a tough one!

Have you thought about splitting your stay between the two resorts? There are quite a few people who like to do this. You could spend a week at each.

Michael - We just stayed at WL in December and really loved it. We are staying at POR in May and have visited, but not stayed. I say if $$ is an issue ( and $1,200 is a lot of $$) then stay at POR. I really liked WL, but for that price difference, POR would be my choice. By the way, we were in Greenock last summer on a cruise. What a beautiful part of the world. We visited the village of Luss (sp??) and it was heaven on earth. Must be a pleasure to live there!!!! :goodvibes

If the money is not an issue...stay at the Lodge..it is well worth it. It is our favorite resort. Not only is the resort spectacular...love the lobby, the themed rockscaped pool...but the amenities..the marina..where you can rent mousesprites...the lake where you can see the Electric Water Pagent nightly. You also have a bike rental where you can rent bikes and take them over to the campground..we do this every trip. You won't be dissapointed.

We have stayed at both...and can't even compare them! If you can swing it, stay at WL!

Hi Michael

We are from the UK and I wonder why you say that discount codes are a non starter. We bought annual passes in October and are going back again in July - AP's have already saved us a packet, as we got really good discount codes on the hotels we chose last year (POP and POFQ). In July I've booked 10 nights POP and 4 nights WL and waiting for discount codes again - with flights, hotels (excluding any discounts) it will cost around £2000 for the 3 of us (of course park passes are already paid for). Plus I'll be buying a DDE to get discounts on my meals as well this year. Virgin are wanting over £4000 just for 14 nights in POP with tickets.

If you buy AP's for your August trip then you'll be able to use them again next July (just a thought) ;)
