We have stayed at POR since we were 5. On this trip, we will be 4 so we could stay at POFQ if we wanted.

What are your thoughts?
What are the difference?

How are the buses on that side?

How's the food court? Does it have a microwave and toaster as in Riverside?

Thanks.

French Quarter is smaller and much quieter. I love the place, Riverside is a little to large for me. The food court is good but not as big as riverside. I believe they do have a micro wave and toaster. The bus transportation is faster at french quarter. Can't go wrong with either place.

I think POFQ is more quaint and has a great food court. It is also first to pick up on bus rides and close to DTD. I am pretty sure is has a microwave and toaster like the Riverside.

We love POFQ, but prefer the food court at POR for both the size and options. We also like the shops at POR better - more options. We have had a few issues with the service at POFQ food court in the past so we always go to POR for dinner. I like the bus stops at POFQ better, there is only 1 stop as opposed to the 3 at POR - sometimes we have picked up the POR people at the first two stops, then the bus was full so we just drove past the people at POR who were there waiting. I always feel kind of bad for the POR people stuck at bus stop 3.
That being said, POR is the first stop on the way to DTD so we have been waiting for the boat and it was full with POR people so we had to wait for the next boat or two, so they could fit POFQ people.
I really don't recall a microwave. I am pretty sure there is a toaster in the food court for bagels, etc.

YEs, POFQ has microwave and two toasters. We were there last week and loved it. Food Court was perfectly fine, but not nearly as large as POR as the resort itself is much smaller. Loved the one bus stop and our room was in a building very close to the lobby and food court. It was perfect!

We just returned from our 2nd stay at POR but have stayed at POFQ many times. While we loved POR~ it was beautiful~ we prefer POFQ. Simply put~ size. We only used the food court at POR once b/c it was just too far to walk after a long day and no one wanted to get in the car. At POFQ, the food court is usually a very short distance- as in- you have to walk past it to get to your room or it's one building over (unless you stay on the river). Our room at POR was right by a bus stop~so that wasn't an issue. We love both~ but for us~ POFQ is better b/c of it's size. The food court, gift shop, and lobby are just way more convenient

IMO, the food court at POFQ is no comparison to the one at POR. We stayed at POR in September which is slow season. We visited POR's food court every morning and there were always ample open tables. One day, we made our way over to POFQ for a change around the same time and it was packed. We had to grab a table in the lounge. POFQ is arguably the most popular mod lately due to its small size, so its often more crowded. This affects the food court and bus stop too. We did not prefer the resort because of this.

Other than distance from things, do the buildings have any benefits? What makes them different?

The food court is nothing great but honestly we weren't there for most of our meals anyways. I think the benefit of small size and 1 bus depot is much more important to us than the food.

And honestly it was basic counter service it wasn't like here were no options. Best snack credit was the ice cream sandwich! It was two huge cookies with two giant scoops of ice cream!

We love POR. We have stayed at both but love the lushness of the landscape at POR. The food court is larger and there was always room whenever we went. I like the rooms better too. We normally stay in deluxe resorts rest of our stay, but love POR so much we pretty much always start our trip by staying there.
