PO-FQ or AKL?

We had originaly book our May trip for the AKL savannah view (we've never been) with an e-mail code. We then have had another relative wanting to go with us, so we instead booked two rooms at PO-FQ (which we love) for more space. Well, unfortunately, that relative now has had to cancel. Should we: A. Keep our two rooms for three adults and one 14 year old at PO-FQ and have an abundance of space B. Try to get a queen bunk room at the AKL (we have our 14 year old daughter and 27 year old son with us and they are not keen on sleeping in the same bed together or C. Try to really cut costs and be packed like sardines in one room at PO-FQ? We are on a semi-tight budget and we would like to get the best value for our buck. We would, however, like to see and stay at the AKL sometime, and the e-mail rate is very good.

A thought: Are there any rooms available in POR with the trundle? You could stay there a few days, save $ by having just one room, but still give the kids seperate beds, and then move over to AKL for the final touch of magic.

I would go with the AKL especially if you have never stayed there before and it is a deluxe over the POFQ being a moderate. We have stayed at the AKL before and LOVED it! It is a real experience especially if you can get a savannah view room. Waking up and seeing (and hearing!) the animals on your balcony is very special. Have never stayed at POFQ but are planning to this October. Have heard great things about it too but between the two, I would recommend the AKL.

We have stayed at both. Personally, I could live at AKL! I really enjoyed POFQ, POR and CSR, but AKL is in a league of its own. As for the trundle bed in the AB, I think it is designed for smaller children and yours may be too large for it to be comfortable. I'm not sure, though.
