Caro - Yes still in the same place.

The water was at least 4 feet deep in some places and stretched 2 blocks. The lady a few houses up on the other side of the street had to be rescued from her house.

All is almost back to normal for us now. Just trying to get the car dry and the sewer smell out.

Glad everyone else is ok too.

Hi all! Crazy day today. Glad it's almost quitting time. I am also glad to see everyone safe and sound!

Well, the tree is gone. We were able to see the damages--there is some damage to the roof, the gutter near where it hit probably needs to be replaced, a small dogweed got damaged & will probably need to be cut down, our fence was destroyed & a big evergreen tree will also need to be taken out. But it seems like the evergreen gave it's life to save us--it appears to have cushioned the tree that got uprooted. As soon as the insurance people come to look at it, dad will get things in motion.

Things for me have been a little crazy the past couple of days but I wanted to pop in to see how all those affected made it through Irene. So glad to see that everyone is safe and sound. Missy I'm sorry about the tree and all the damage it caused.

I have a lot of friends and family up in NY, mostly on LI and SI. Friends posted lots of pictures on FB. Imagine my shock when scrolling through them when I saw my old house with not one but two trees down. One went through the back fence pulling about 50 feet of fence down and into the road, the other right into the pool. Its the first time in 14 months I was glad I wasn't in NY

It's a pretty day outside today, hard to imagine the difference between Saturday/Sunday & today! We're more sad about the evergreen tree that we lost than the big ugly tree. We planted that evergreen, nurtured it, and it's been a beautiful addition to our landscaping.

And now I'm really getting excited about my trip! I spent my unexpected day off organizing the stuff I want to pack.

I need to go grab some breakfast from the kitchen, but I am too lazy to leave my office. :sad2: Motivated I am not.

Hey all, glad everyone has seemed to weather the storm okay. It's a beautiful day to be cleaning up sticks.

Mornin'!

My daughter-in-law is now 2cm's dilated! If she doesn't go by next Wednesday (her due date) they'll induce.

Good Morning! Nothing going on here. Just hoping for some showings this week or weekend on the house.

Hey Phors, why should I call you oboe?

She has been unwilling to even give it a try here. I get that she wants to graduate with her friends, and do all the 'senior' things with kids she's grown up with. I will miss her, even with all the trouble she's given us ;)
oh goodness. That would be hard. Is she staying with her dad then?

I love trees. Two weeks after we moved into our last house we were hit by 80 mile an hour straight line winds and it took out seven trees. I was so sad.

I started packing yesterday for our cruise. My husband thinks I am insane. :rotfl: The only reason I did is that I bought my youngest some shorts and swim trunks on clearance. I don't want them to get lost or worn out so I put them in the suitcase. :confused3 Made sense to me!

:rotfl: Because when I try to type phors on my iPad, it autocorects to Oboes. Sometimes I miss what autocorret has "corrected" for me.

It is so nice to see so many old friends again in one place! I'm looking forward to talking with you all again and getting to know you new PMSers! Just hope you know what you're all getting in to.
