Hi Everyone!

Have you lost your mind! We need to permanently ban UD from our computers, we might all need serious therapy because of that. :guilty:

My 18yo college DD was going to apply for a summer job at a local community lake boat dock. I think they are hiring a couple of people to run the dock--renting out boats, etc for the summer months. As far as I can tell there would be just the 2 people working F-Tu 11:30-7:30 shift. Not bad hours for a college student--could sleep in and still have the evening hours to hang with friends.

But if there are only 2 employees she doesn't know how they would handle vacations, but she might would not take a vacation (not the end of the world and she knows that going into it). But there are a couple other days that she might would have a conflict. Her boyfriend is still in high school and she is going to prom with him, which is a couple of days after the job would start.

I told her that if she gets an interview the most that she should do is to talk about their general policies in the interview--ie, how many employees are hired at the boat dock, are employees allowed any time off, etc? Just general questions.

She told me that by not mentioning specifics that it would be misleading and I told her that she should wait for them to want her and for them to offer her a job, and then she could accept with the understanding that she gets off early the day of the prom and goes in late the following day (or whenever she thinks she should work).

What do you suggest? I told her that by mentioning it too early all she's going to do is to convince them that they don't want her.

Since this is a first interview, I would stick to generalities. She can just ask what the company's vacation, sick, time-off policy is.

Hi guys. Allison and I WHERE planning on going to Kohl's big sale today but we will have to wait until tomorrow. :sad2: DH took my van to work cause his truck is leaking anti-freeze. Kohl's is having the sale today and tomorrow sure hope everything isn't picked over before we get there. I wanted to look for some new rolling luggage for our trip. Allison has a gift card she got for Christmas that she wants to spend. So what is everyone else doing today? :teeth:

Today I need to do damage control in my kitchen. My counters have papers, etc that need to be sorted through. Really not a big job, but it sure looks like it from where I'm sitting. So I keep staring at it, daring it to take care of itself. Problem is, the counter is basically giving me the finger. :lmao:

Then I'm going to wash the sheets on my DD's bed since she's coming home today. I would let her do it, bet her brother slept in her bed when he wasn't feeling well so I will wash the sheets. Also have some more laundry to do.

I need to run the Roomba, too.

Fun day, huh? :teeth: It looks like it's going to rain so I can't just skip it all and go outside.

I suppose I should do my Easter baking today since we will be out tomorrow shopping. I am assigned desserts this time.

I found a real easy recipe for cinnamon bread that Allison can make all by herself. It is one of those pull away breads. She will make that.
I plan on making a Dream cicle cake, and Cremepuff cake.

The Dream cicle cake actually tastes like the dreamcicle ice cream bars. yummy!

First I will Dis for a while longer. :thumbsup2 :teeth:

If I'm not mistaken, her date is with a fuzzy black and white little tree climber. Unless I'm misreading the clue. I've been so off lately I could easily be wrong! :rotfl2:

Oh, Briarmom just had to link to anthropologie, didn't she?!!! :hyper: Stats: 5'6, size 6, no booobage, dark brown hair, light olive skin that deeply tans in the summer... OK, ladies--which one?

I have shoes and a handbag that will go with the two blue dresses, but would need new ones for the yellow. I'd think I'd lose the red sash on the one dress, but I'd have to see it first. I can pull off strapless because I have no booobs and broad shoulders, but I don't have anything at all in a halter-style. But that yellow dress is just so adorable!

See--this is the reason I can't afford a laptop!
