PMS in a Handbasket--Don't be afraid, just bring us food... Part 2a

Hey, vent away! You have good reason to not respect her. :sad2: She's not worthy of even worrying about. We have too many of those people in our family. I told you about my nephew who's planning on driving here for the Bar Mitzvah. Well, there's my other sister's son. I haven't seen him in ages. He's single and when we were last visiting my sister at her house a couple years ago he lives local and he didn't even come see us. I asked my sister and she said he knew we were in town and I told him I really wanted to see Keith (he'd never even met my kids), but never came over. He has a teeny apartment, so it's not like we could go over there, not to mention the fact that he didn't invite us. Nice, huh? Don't know what his problem is and neither does my sister. But I'm glad that I have other nephews like Patrick--he's the one that I'll have a relationship with.

I hear ya! Thank goodness for my family! My husband adores them all and they love him. All my DH's family now lives in TN and his mom is always trying to get us to go down for a visit but DH won't go. He says there is no reason to go. She comes and spends a couple months up here and he has no desire to spend time with his sister (not that she would make time for us anyways).
We are quite content hanging with mine. LOL

Can't live with 'em, can't live with 'em!

Wow 4's you got that many that actually RSVP'd??? That's amazing! For my parents 25th we invited 60 people. I actually got calls from 3 people!!! 3!!!! We spent a week on the phone calling all my parents friends and our family to find out who was coming. I gave a final head count to the caterer and then about 20 people who said they'd be there didn't show up. Yeah, sure I have an extra $300 to blow just in case you find something better to do at the last minute. People are so rude nowdays. You are a peach of a MIL to do all this! :grouphug:

Shug, the people who said they were coming and then didn't really drove me crazy! :furious: We had various people who did that. For Alyssa's, we invited a family. First of all, they didn't come to the service that morning, but came to the party that evening. Hmmm, just come for the fun. :confused3 And then we'd invited the couple and their two children and they RSVPed that they were all coming, which made sense since their older DD was about Alyssa's age and the family was friends with our family. So the parents showed up and we asked where the girls were and they said that they (the parents) decided to have an adults only evening. OK, at $20 something/head for the caterer alone, not to count anything else, that was sure nice. They weren't invited to Ben's... That's one of many stories. And each time I have a story like that (with the exception of family, which I can't avoid  ), they are crossed off the list for the next one. :rolleyes1

We invited about 100 people and 43 invites went out. I've gotten back 24. 62 people are accounted for. Most of the ones who haven't answered are my sons' friends but I guess that can be expected from 22 year old single males! LOL

The thing that is nice about where we are having the reception is the meals we are having are on their regular menu so if some show up who didn't RSVP they can still eat. We pay the day of the reception so they will calculate how many were served and charge us accordinly. Pretty cool, huh?

Our new super cushy mattress was just delivered. I'm going to be in shock tonight, not sleeping on the brick that we've been sleeping on the last 15 years. Of course, now our guests will be sleeping on it. :rotfl: Not that it's that bad, but I'm ready for a cushy pillowtop. :cloud9:

Now to call another NC furniture place to get a quote so we can decide where to order the furniture from. That has to be done this week.

Ya know.....I have to say how terribly dissapointed I am with you all. I told you I had to Ebay all day today and if you see me to yell at me. Have you been??? NO! You have been baiting me further to keep replying to threads. Shame shame!

OOOHHHHHH....a Nap????? Yeah, baby!

Whatcha selling 4's? I've got 8 up and running and another 20 or so to go. Doing a couple or three a day.

For my parents party, we had my mother's best friend cater. She owns a chinese restaurant. They closed the restaurant and I paid only their cost for the food and drinks so I only paid $15 a head but when you are expecting 50 and 30 show up, that's a BIG difference!

And WTH is up with people who bring gifts when the invite specifically says NO GIFTS? My mother had requested no gifts and when family started calling to ask what to get them Dad said tell them they can contribute to the cost of the party if they really feel they MUST do something. About 1/2 the people who showed up brought gifts. Stuff like espresso makers and crystal wine glasses. My parents had just moved into their RV to spend their lives travelling. Where did they think they were gonna put an espresso maker :confused3 I felt so bad for the people who didn't bring a gift. Some were so embarassed to have come empty handed even though I said NO GIFTS.

Hello! I came home for my lunch hour. How's everyone doing?

I was going to give you a bad time about not eBaying on your thread about no locked threads and even hit the reply button, ready to hassle you. But then I thought, wait, was it 4's or Shug that was supposed to be eBaying. I thought it was you, but had a nagging doubt and I was too lazy to come back here and check. :rotfl2: Just wanted to let you know that I did think of nagging you--not that that helps. :lmao: And then I thought if saying, "don't you have something better to do today?", but that would have sounded so rude for those that didn't know I was teasing you, not to mention that I have a lot of better things to be doing today, but I seem to only be managing to wash all my bedding and doing assorted stuff in my kitchen. :rotfl:

Hey Bb! How's the spankee doing today? Hmmm, that sounded rather kinky, didn't it? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Ummm Bonnie? I can't mail a package without an address ding dong!

For some reason as I was pulling into our complex I burst into tears. Horrible heaving sobs and lots of snot followed. I sat in the car 20 min trying to compose myself. Then I came in and popped a Xanax. I have no idea what that was about but I think the Celexa may not be working very well :guilty:

Shug, how long have you been on the meds? How long did the dr say to give it? Maybe the dose isn't right. Sorry you're having a rough time!

:grouphug: was there a sad song on the radio? sometimes I hear a certain song and it just makes me start crying. :grouphug:

T&B: The "Spankee" is doing much better. We have several new ones that are worse than him and I think when he sees them acting like that it makes him realize how he looks when he does it. I wonder if that's how Spanky from Little Rascals got his name! :)

Shug: PM sent. Are you not feeling well?

Angel: what kind of work do you do?
