Family is there to remind you why you love your friends.
So we're home whew, what a morning. I am so freakin' tired. Caitlin and I are having a mommy daughter day today. We went to breakfast this morning at a cute little coffee shop in our neighborhood. Then I "ran to the bank to open an account for the Girl Scout troop"...what I thought would be a half hour errand ended up taking two and a half hours. I had Caitlin with me the whole time (she's five). Two other leaders met me, but she was the only kid. I am so proud of her. She sat quietly and drew pictures, worked on math equations that she made up, copied words she found on signs into her book and basically killed two and a half hours without whining that she wanted to leave once!!!! What a trooper!
Every store I went into after that I had to buy her a treat. She got two books, a new set of markers, and a vibrating light up thingie from Bed Bath and Beyond (god I hope she doesn't figure out how to take that thing to Best Buy). I then went to Home Depot to pick up some garbage bags and I managed to score 20 LGMH's for my collection.
Now I'm home and exhausted. She's sleeping (even though she REALLY didn't need a nap according to her) and I'm catching up.
