I really needed something to be happy about right now.
My mom, who was supposed to be watching the kiddos while DH and I go on our cruise, has been having vertigo since last Friday. She went for an MRI yesterday and her Doc called. She has tissue deep in her brain that is not getting adequate blood. That is NOT good. So I am to make other babysitting arrangements (good luck!) because until they know exactly what's going on my mom is "in no condition to care for 3 children". Of course this assumes we go at all depending on what the neurologist says. I was really looking forward to my owner's suite and the kids were looking forward to a week with grandma.

Apparently benign tumors and scar tissue aren't especially uncommon after the laser surgery. If the first is benign odds are in favor of any others being so as well. That doesn't mean there will never be another malignant tumor but it's actually a very good sign.

It sucks to have IVs and they cut into my belly button which hurts and ran a scope up my hoohaw but the cool thing about this place is the free wifi and laptops once the nurse clears you to fart around. Now I'm just waiting to be told I can go home. Dh is making me nuts so I hope it's soon Past experience tells me an hour or two.

Thanks Tig! I went back and read my OP and thought boy do I sound selfish. I didn't mean it that way. It's just that right now, we know NOTHING. So, I have to make plans in case it's not serious, with the understanding that we may just not go. If we don't go, we will have to get mom's doctor to fill out forms for our travel insurance. We are in about $3200total on this trip. I'm worried about my mom. I'm worried about my kids. I'm tired. I want to curl up in a ball and cry.

Selfish my big fat fanny You have every right to be worried about your mom and disappointed that you may not make the cruise you've looked forward to for so long. The two are not mutually exclusive! What's the plan of action? Any idea how soon they might know something? Did the Dr. give any clues as to what he thinks you're dealing with? Do you have other family in the area to take the kids so they can still see grandma?
