Paige, I have to read to DD's 2nd grade class next week. I need a really good 2nd grade book. Any suggestions of what they might really like?

Silly me thought that by highlighing the pool clubhouse rental contract where it says you MUST sweep and mop the floor, AND making her initial it, and reminding her in an email and when I talked to her, would prevent any problems. Stupid, stupid, stupid me.

AND she tried to tell me that the spills and spots in the kitchen and on the tables were there when she got there. Since I CLEANED them last week the answer to that would be NO! It is in the contract--clean up. You MUST sweep and mop. Not optional cause you don't feel like it is fair. You are a freaking shareholder--you own the building, take some responsibility for your investment! Clean it and quit whining to me that I am being unfair. You don't like it, then next time host 75 High School students at YOUR house for 4 hours with food and drink.

Okay I went back and found it. I was sooo curious. Anyway, I think Pinocchio is a girl??!!??!!

How long are you reading for?

My kids adore the Froggy books. Lots of sound effects in those and Froggy is a funny frog kid.
Froggy Goes Swimming
Froggy Goes to School
Froggy Finds a Friend
and so on

They LOVE the Black Lagoon books..........you might think they're a bit dark, but they feel very empowered by them, the kid thinks horrible awful things about different school employees he might encounter and then finds they aren't true after all.
The Principal from the Black Lagoon
The Nurse from the Black Lagoon
The Teacher from the Black Lagoon
The Lunch Lady (might be Cafeteria Lady) from the Black Lagoon
and so on

They love the Disney books, I just read Mickey Mouse in The Prince and the Pauper to my tutoring students yesterday. They like Bambi, Fox and the Hound, a lot of those classics they havent' seen.......Dumbo.

Be sure to use different voices now. They love that.

Darlin' you want my history, I have got STORIES. I don't tell them much, these all have heard them.

Hi corncob #1 hows work today?

I didnt read outside, I washed a car instead...something about a car thats supposed to be white...looking kinda yellow and funky in the sun. The 4yo washed all three of her bikes and rewashed the parts of the car I had already done. I also cleaned junk out of it. Why do kids insist on leaving everything in a car ? No kidding, 5 pairs of shoes 3 headbands, a t shirt , a hoodie, and about 8 toys.

Am I corncob #1? If so work was good, the boss took us out to lunch. Then I left early to go see GS's football game, which he got to play in and they won!!

And I don't have children of my own but my van is trashed all the time mainly from the boys. Most times one of them manages to leave behind some item.

We love those too! In fact I have most of those in my personal collection! I just wasn't sure if they were too juvenille for them. I think I will pick a Black Lagoon one DD was leaning towards Curious George or a Miss Nelson book, but I like the Black Lagoon ones.
