Good Morning chicas!


So, who knew the Tooth Fairy had it so hard? She tiptoed in last night and Caitlin woke up. The Tooth Fairy had to make up a quick lie about Caitlin talking in her sleep and run out of the room. Then, a half an hour later, she tiptoed in and Caitlin started to wake up again. The Tooth Fairy was midway through the money for tooth swap...so she quick grabbed the tooth and went running out of the room. On the way out, she stepped on a Barbie shoe causing her to twist her ankle while hopping over the stuffed bear. Clenching her teeth to avoid cussing outloud, she then toppled into the door frame and hopped out of the room on one foot. The worst part was when her DH began laughing hysterically at the half dressed Tooth Fairy trying not to walk on the foot injured by the Barbie shoe or the ankle injured by the twisting. The husband was punched by the Tooth Fairy and then she felt better. By the way, she left five bucks for the first tooth and will leave a buck for each tooth thereafter.

I would just like to gripe for a minute, if you guys don't mind.

Our AC is on the fritz. Here in Florida. In July/August. As Billy Crystal said in The Princess Bride, "It's only mostly dead". Which means it works for a little bit in the morning and then freezes up.

Now, in many ways, it's a wonderful thing having a husband who can fix things. I'm sure this has saved us thousands of dollars in repair calls over the years. However, the dark underbelly of this situation is that it's well-nigh impossible to get him to call someone to repair a thing if he can't figure it out himself. For days now, he's been tinkering with the thing, always with one more idea to try before we call the guy. Meanwhile, I'm teaching my piano lessons in an un-air-conditioned house day after day while he's off at work. Then we sleep in a hot house at night.

So finally, yesterday afternoon he breaks down and calls the guy, who arranges to be here this morning at 9. Hallelujah, right? Except that the guy calls this morning to say he can't be here at 9, he'll be here "sometime today", because he's got an "emergency" call to someone else he has to take care of first. I'm wondering what the emergency could be - maybe NO AC FOR THE LAST 4 DAYS?????????????????????

No, the Tooth Fairy does not get worker's comp....she gets no pay, so there is no loss of stability or income associated with the injury. She does not go to the doctor because she has no time...all those freakin kids with teeth dropping left and right. What the Tooth Fairy has is attitude, and plenty of it.


Hmmmmm.....maybe that's where Tag Fairies get their start....they're tooth fairy rejects.

If I wasn't at work (it's a hospital- so germ ridden) I would literally be rolling on the floor. Poor tooth fairy

Koolaid, that tooth fairy has a tough job. Wait until the tooth fairy happens to be caught without a buck around. Better make sure the tooth fairy mixes it up how she pays that buck.........if it's always a bill, the bill will always be expected. Also, my child had to have explained to him that each kid has their own tooth fairy and they age faster than people. Thus explaining both the money discrepancies between him and his friends (oh yes, they compare notes........and those 5 dollar fairies............Tiffer!...........are the bane of the 1 dollar ones, and do you realize there are 10 and 20 dollar fairies out there?), and why his tooth fairy began forgetting as he got older. Because of course by then she was very very old.
