I'm saying that Disney has so much money, and VMK would be a great place to spend it.

Buying some more servers would be a great start

The thing is, it's a free game. They're not going to spend a bunch of money on new servers for VMK.

Trust me there have been plenty of times that I wish VMK was not a free game, when you pay for something, you can expect a certain level of service,which with a free game, you do not get.

Weekends are busy on vmk, then we have a quest that requires a mini game? I am not criticizing any one personally, Have no idea who designs quests or decides what shall go in them, but to have a mini game required in a quest, on a weekend with one server, your going to have some unhappy people, does not matter what the prize is, if a certain percentage of people are crashing.

Always the same problems on vmk, ride a thon, tons of lag, quests with mini games required, tons of lag again, and crashing.

I play other disney games that you pay a fee for, and do not encounter these problems experienced on vmk on those sites.

You get what you pay for.

On Toontown, yes but the others are free (You can subscribe for POTCOnline for additional features)

I didn't know that Penquin was owned by disney and I thought POTC online was pay only! The one time I tried to sign up for POTC online, it asked for my credit card. When I saw that, I stopped cold. Penguin never asks for credit card info unless you want more features.Wow! I really learned a few things tonight.

As far as VMK goes, I do think they have more than one server. Look at the way it loads up and what has happened in the past with our being able to sign on but get dc'd before accessing vmk. I could be wrong but I do believe they have more than one server.

Anyone have a link for potc online that they can share? or do I need to buy software. How does that work.

DC'ing has gotten much worse...
The lag in mini games is so bad you cant make credits...
The chat in pirates is unneccessary (imo that is)...
The cost of items they release, how in the world do little dudes afford this stuff??
The fact that vmk does not enforce its own values when needed after tons of reports
I realize its a free game and I appreciate that. But they are so busy adding new that they over look what needs to be fixed....ie lag, dc, harrassment etc.
Yes disney has alot of money and should give all these things consideration after all since when do the disney ppl do anything second rate even if it is free? After all its what gets us to the parks, seeing and buying their movies.

I certainly wouldn't be playing. I'd once again have to find something free to do. Not everyone has the extra money to pay for subscription games.

Uhh...Where have you been in the last 10-15 years or so? Ever hear of direct to video movies? Like Cinderella 2 & 3? George of the Jungle 2? Hunchback of Notre Dame II? Aladdin and the King of Thieves ?
Or how about some of the tv shows?

There has actually been quite a bit they've done second rate that they've sold. It's pretty much nothing but a business anymore.

And as stated, they are not going to spend a lot more money on something that's free to the public.

I just got an excellent computer with 2GB of RAM, a 1.9GHZ Centrino Processor, and a NVIDIA GeForce graphics card with 1/2 GB of dedicated memory. (The graphics are the problem with VMK i think)
ETA: I bet they do make money off of it indirectly. Think of all of the Herbie Movies, Pin Sets, and trips to Disney they have gotten or sold

There are some free games where you can actually play well the game without having to buy anything, I played a few games said to be F2P but of course to get money, they have real money shops where you can buy items to boost your playing.

VMK is said to be a free game but it falls under the same category as the other games Ive played because in the past, you had to visit parks to get stuffs, now, you can buy pins to get ingame items, and if you buy DVDs you can also get items..

So, it is F2P but they still get money from some people playing the game and could do some things in more to make the playing for all better

yes! I barely crash EVER. I basically only run DIS and VMK Pal and thats it.

They offer a free game that has "extras" that you can benefit from by spending small amounts of money (which quickly add up), but are not necessary to play if you so chose. If Disney knows how to do 2 things better than any company on Earth they are:
1. animation
2. marketing.

Everytime someone spends $15 on a pin pack or $20 on a herbie DVD so they can get a VMK code, the marketing department's has proven that their free game generates money. As I said it's pretty much nothing compared to the other pay to play games. Also it may very well be your graphics card. I know I have a very good one due to the work I do on my lap top. It could also be your internet connection. After recently changing mine [before I crashed many MANY times each day] it made all the difference in the world and it's unbelievable rare for me to crash.

I realize they are just a corporation. But I also believe there are still those connected to disney that have the "old school" beliefs that Walt tried to instill in ppls minds and hearts. Disney has made some very bad choices as far as board members, movies, theme parks and yes even vmk. My family has alot of disney stock and trust me its not much of a thrill ride.
I for one would pay to play vmk. Then perhaps they could filter out a small percent of the low life that cause issues....and we could expect a higher performance on the site. Everyones computers are different, but taking all things in to consideration ie updates speed etc you hear one word in the game "lag". I run nothing else but vmk and lag out my ears (mickey ears that is) lol Hmm what was my point here....no idea lol

Well I hate to burst your bubble but rude and inconsiderate people are a part of life. If it's annoying you on VMK the only way to take care of that is to leave but you'll have to deal with people like that outside of VMK in the real world too. It's just something you've gotta deal with. Something is obviously up with your computer if your crashing 10 times in a half hour. Maybe it's your browser. The point is VMK wont do much of anything if it's not a collective problem.
