If you don't like VMK, then don't log in. Simple as that. No one forces someone to log in and join the community.

I suggest those that want it to close and those that spread negativity around go on with their own lives and leave us to fight for VMK.

I do not see anybody on this thread saying they want VMK to close or being negative. I also do not see anybody saying they feel forced to log in or don't like the game. I am sorry to say, but I think your post was the first one that was negative by lashing out at other people for not fighting or taking the same stance as you.

I'm trying to stay as positive about this whole thing as I can. I've decided that I am going to play as if the game is closing tomorrow, but campaign as if we can keep the game going forever! In some ways, this closing thing (whether it be a publicity thing, something that can be reversed, or the real deal) has been good for me.

Now, I'm not saying I want the game to close (I'm firmly in the yes column on this poll); but having this ultimatum hanging over me has really spurred me into action. With the help of the Blackheart money, I've completed a ride I've been working on for nearly a year, set up and filled a couple of quests, finished my Adventurer's Club (OK, I don't think the money went to that one, but the deadline definitely hurried me along) and increased my magic collection.

So, wherever you stand in this poll, I say go out and enjoy what may, or may not, be our last few weeks together!

Again, nobody said anybody was dumb, stupid or crazy. If you are referring to other threads, I never saw those words used. It certainly was not a part of this one. Maybe it is best to stick to the topic at hand to ensure people know what you are referring to.

Just as you said, everybody is entitled to their opinion. If people think you are crazy (which I personally do not) they are just as free and welcome to express that as you express that you are fighting and want VMK to stay open, are they not?

Well I have 2 things to say..
First ...this is still Disboards, not Save VMK boards, so if you want to fight to save something that you love and believe in so be it but dont berate someone else for not having that same passion. To some this was "Just a game" to others it was a "way of life"
we can all equally get along here protesting for the game to stay or not.

Second. I have to say that since the vmk closing announcement/me getting banned I have gotten my life back! My husband and I spend so much more time together and with our kids. Now I know there are many out there with nobody, and if VMK is your outlet to the outside world then I think that is great. I sent in my letters and Emails and did what *I* thought was my part to help save VMK but I am not going to hound Disney every single day to keep a virtual community open. And again that is FINE for some of you to do I am not knocking anyone for trying, I am actually very impressed at the gusto that you people still ahve to save the game.

But the break in playing made me realize that I spent far too much time with my pixilated friends and not enough with the flesh and blood kind.

So in closing, for those that wish to keep fighting, RIGHT ON! and for those that have accepted that VMK is closing and decided to focus their energy elsewhere..RIGHT ON! to you too

And yes, I have seen some posts that have been plainly saying to stop fighting and give up. Even one post today stated "have you all lost your minds?" inferring that we were all crazy. The very same post goes on to almost say that she thinks were dumb without actually saying the word.
And this is not the first post I've seen here.

I've never said this is the Save VMK board. But, when people are saying things like this and telling people to just give up, it gets me pissed. If a person doesn't want to save VMK, then fine. I just want people to please stop telling everyone else, especially the kids here, that they're crazy and/or dumb and to give up.

This attitude is not something you want to teach kids. If a child learns that it's better to just quit, they'll become a quitter all their lives. In that case, very little could ever get better in this life.
To teach a child that they must be crazy or jumb and to just quit every time they come up against a brick wall is to render them powerless.
I don't want to see that being taught anywhere.

Anything can be achieved if we work together and put our minds to it. Even with a powerhouse such as Disney.

In the beginning we all came out with guns blazing ready to snatch Disney bald but alot of factors change things. I still love vmk and am enjoying every last second we have. But disney took the fight out of me, not just by their decision to close, but by their lies, their unfair bans, and their values that only apply to a select few. Im tired of writing them about harrassing and racist players that should have been banned a long time ago. Ppl that dont have the sense God gave them. So for us the fight is over. And so is Disney in general.

LOL But in reality I have to say, Disney has never, and I mean never pulled a stunt like this that took the wind out of my sails like this has. This has affected me like nothing else in my entire life, and that is saying something!

Sure to some this is a great case study on a popular MMOG closing, because it for sure it is truely the first time it has happened. MMOG's have closed before but it is because they were failing, VMK is not. This is just not the case with this instance. If disney wants to know how it is going to work, and how it affects "the bottom line" then I am fully behind letting them know now. Close VMK it just cost you $25,000, and that is just the planned trips for me and mine, the other fly by the seat of your pants trips could add another 10k to that.

So WDIG, abandon us and believe me, we will abandon you!

Wow I thought I was pretty pumped here lol.
I think everyone is tired of hearing their excuse of "just a promotion". Thats the lame excuse they decided to stick with. If thats the case, why didnt they have disclamers on their park quest cards that we spent thousands of dollars on via WDW trips, and disclamers on their movie rewards........."disclamer ......warning be forewarned that any monies spent on these items is your own stupidity as we will be snatching vmk out from under you". Maybe we are a drop in disney's financial bucket but trust me somehow they will feel the effects of this action. Many have canceled their trips. Its amazing even what a family of 4 spends in a week.

So we just enjoy the time we have. Some continue to play the disney games buy the items, others avoid any disney at all costs.
