So a guy I work with now lives in Vermont but moved from Florida a couple of years ago. He worked at DW all thru high school and college. He told me that the person that was either late or in the dog house (no pun intended) gets stuck with the pluto costume. He said pluto is usually bitter and thats why. I thought that was funny. I will be sure to ask pluta why he is pluto? j/k.

:rotfl: Thanks for sharing that. Now I'm going to have to have some fun with Pluto when I see him next....

I was always under the impression that they had to audition to be characters to see if the CM could take on that characters persona, and fit the costume. Could you imagine someone 5' trying to be Pluto? :confused3 Not everyone can be Donald. Have you seen how that character behaves. It's great! I have to say, behind Donald, Pluto is usually one of the better character personas we usually encounter.

Pluto bitter???
Pluto was the most fun character of all of them.

I completly agree. My DD9 has always loved Pluto since her first visit when she grabbed Pluto's tongue and started teething on it (she was 9 months old). He stood there for several minutes letting her do it and patting her head. Every trip she has enjoyed wonderful time with Pluto, as she always has her raggidy old Pluto with her and says he is her favorite. One year at Chef Mickey's he danced an entire song with her (fast dancing) then came back and danced a whole song with her like you slow dance. This past trip at Chef Mickey's he put the stuffed Pluto on his nose and tossed it up in the air and caught it in his mouth. We love to watch that video, it is so cute. Then he "stole" her Pluto, went running off with it and she chased after him.

I always thought the interaction we have gotten from Pluto has been the best!!!

When we saw Pluto last, he dug up some flowers on Main St and a CM "scolded him." It was a lot of fun.

Characters DO have to audition. Characters are not based on who is late:lmao:

Had a friend that was a character and size does count...as well as being able to act the part.

Still have a hard time believing that TweedleDum (Pluto & Tigger) is now a Marine who just started his second tour in Iraq...please pray for safety for him, he's there for 6 months.

I don't believe it....it would be funny though.......I might be able to use that idea when one of my employees are late..hhmmmmmm:rolleyes:

This is not true. At least it wasn't when I worked at WDW. You audtioned to become a character. Pluto height is a specific range of heights...characters that do Pluto usually also do Bre'r Fox, Bre'r Bear, some Country Bears, etc. When I worked there you were assigned a specific location and character for your shift.

Sorry, but that is not true.
