I was wondering how the rides are for the pooh size people? I am wondering if it is worth while going if we can't fit on the rides. Thanks!!!

The only attractions you might have a problem on are the coasters and Ripsaw Falls. There are test seats out front of the attraction entrance to try out before waiting in line only to find out it's not going to work. I think you'll have a great time and if you try out the test seating and it's not an issue, then there's nothing stopping you!

On the coasters, rows 3 and 6 have modified seats, as well (you can spot them, they have two belts). Much more accomodating.

The trick to Ripsaw (this works for those that are tall as well as big/Shrek sized) is to get into the 3rd or 4th seat. Stretch your legs forward as far as possible, ans slide into the seat.

If you are partway in and are holding yourself up with your arms, do a "squat" or just let your arms relax and let gravity take over. You may need to bend your knees a bit as you lower yourself in. This is actually easier than it sounds.

I think I would almost skip Ripsaw if you are bigger than a 22 maybe. I tried it a couple of years ago at a size 24 and it was traumatic for me. (of course everyone's body size is different). I had ridden it before and didn't have much of a problem (was smaller). But this time I couldn't get in. Was wearing crocs and floor was wet and slippery. Then got stuck and couldn't get out. My husband and the man running the ride was trying to help me and I panicked. The man running the ride was very nice and empathetic. He told me to try another seat but I didn't want to try again. I was very embarrassed. I don't know that I will ever ride it again even if I lose alot of weight. Now a big guy that was with us did fine (was a little tight) but he did fine. He sat in a different seat in the log I think. I don't remember which seat I tried to sit in. But, maybe it does have to do with which seat you sit in. I didn't have any problems on any other ride. DD and Hulk has modified seating that I used and didn't have any trouble with Mummy. Just my personal experience.:confused3

I think Ripsaw can be difficult for anybody larger. I myself find Ripsaw hard to get out of and I am not Shrek (this is Universal after all :)) sized. But while very fit, I am about 6'1" and I have to make an effort to get out of the log. But it can be done.

Coming from more of a male perspective, I am 6'7" 310 pounds played college basketball followed by enjoying eating probably more than I should. My gf and I went to Universal last summer and I was able to ride every ride in the park. def go to the special rows for hulk and dueling dragons. Was tight due to my large chest/upper torso. I sat in seat, gf helfed with the over the shoulder restraint and was very very tight. But definitely was secure in the seat lol. I have not heard anything about the rip ride rockit, but since we are returning this summer, I hope I can ride that as well.

The one thing that I did do prior to my trip was started walking around 45 min a day for a month leading up to the trip. Since we did Universal and Disney, the amount of walking was great. In doing so, I probably trimmed about 10-15 pounds before the trip....as well as being ready for the 'hoofin' it that occurs!

I hope you have a good experience and even if you cant ride a few of the rides, it is still a great park to visit!

Ripsaw is easier to get out of, than in, for some. Getting in uses a gravity assist if you let your arms relax. Getting out requires more upper body strength. I've seen people who had difficulty getting in pop themselves out with ease. I've also seen the reverse.

Congrats on the walking ! :thumbsup2 It's always great to start a walking program before going to the parks. We do a lot of walking while visiting.

I am actually terrified to go to Universal Studios because I am afraid of not fitting in some of the rides or some being too thight. We have a day planned out during our upcoming trip. I am 5'7 and 236 pounds. I wear it mostly around the hips and bum area. The first year I went to Disney I was 246 pounds. Last year I was around 240 pounds and this year I hope I will have brought my weight down to around 225 pounds. I fit in all of the Disney rides without a problem. But, I am afraid at the ones at Universal Studios. :scared1:

And, losing weight is not an easy task and you have to be ready. I am commited to exercise and eating whole foods and I've cut down on my portion so that as helped me a lot. But, I still have some bad days where I want to eat everything in sight. I just do it less often than I use to.

Congrats to everyone who loses weight, I know what it's like.:cheer2:

Ripsaw Falls is the worst one - I find it "complex" to wiggle myself in there and I'm 5'4" and 130lb.

Rip Ride and Rockit has HUGE seats - my 'screen' was a good 6" to the right of centre when I was strapped in and I'm by no means skinny!

Kath2003, 5'4 130 lbs is pretty skinny, I'd say!

Last time I tried to ride anything in IoA I was about a size 18-20. I found things getting REALLY tight then. (Didn't know about any rows being slightly alrger and to be honest, I'd be embarassed to ask for those seats ...that's just me folks. :guilty: ) I still remember barely getting to ride the DD. I'm even worse now so I'm sure anything "fun" as I would think of fun is o-u-t for me. I don't feel like paying a honey-bee to do nothing. Last time we went, I didn't ride much of anything. My DH isn't as fit as he used to be either, I wonder how he would fare. :confused3

Just to add to this... Rows 3 and 6 each have ONE modified seat, so if you're two "modified" people, you need to split up.

Inform the ride loader if there is one, if not, look up and there should be signs as to wehre the "modified" seats are....

And all coasters have test seats out front, even Dr. Doom has one for you to try.

I am by no means a small gal and when I was at US and IOA last week I was able to ride anything that had a lap bar only -- Rip Ride, The Mummy. I don't do water rides so I just passed those by. Now I tried the modifed coaster seats and just couldn't get my hips to fit and there was no way that the shoulder restaints were going to fit. I did sit and test out Rip Ride before I went on it. That test seat will give you a green light when it locks. It was a tight fit but I did it. That coaster is awesome. Next year when I go there again I hope to fit in all the seats. Oh, and I do fit in everything at WDW.

Universal is definately harder for pooh sized people. We went to both in March and I had problem with several rides. I wear size 30 I am 5'6 and 300#, so definately pooh sized. ET was horrible the first time through, make sure you ask for a bench seat, then its fine. Shrek seats very tight, but was able. Simpsons was very tight, but was able. Jimmy Neutron very tight and slightly painful, but able. MIB very tight. Suess trolley very tight. One fish two fish, seuss carosel and jaws no problem.

I am a size 24 (apple-shaped) and was able to ride both Dueling Dragons & Hulk using the modified seats a few years back. I just asked the CM for one of those seats...she was super nice about it.

I didn't much care for Dueling Dragons though.. er, I should say, my body didn't. All the blood rushed from my head down to my toes. My feet actually hurt while on the ride and I was light-headed for a few minutes after the ride.

I must be getting too old for some of the wilder rides...especially those with strong G-forces. I got a nose bleed on Goliath at 6 Flags a couple of years ago. Loved the drop, but that cork screw was something else. :scared:

You don't even usually need to ask for the modified seats when it's quiet at DD - they let you choose your own row.

It's the one with two belts, so if you're a pair you may need "switch" with the other pair on your row to get the correct two seats. Everyone we met was coo about it (and slightly confused as to what we were asking for :lmao:).

I am 4'11 and 223lbs size 18 and when we went this weekend I rode everything and didnt use the modified seating. The only ride that was somewhat snug to me was Ripsaw Falls, other than that everything else was okay. I even rode in the front on HRRR
